  • For that price you'd think they'd put a better display on it rather than 1920x1080

    • Imagine living in a world that resolution is it took to be a "better display"….

      • English?

    • Well Razer can only use a display that exists. 4K is pointless on a 17’’ screen, and a 1440p 17’’ screen doesn't exist.

To be fair, you are not likely to tell the difference when sitting at a normal distance.

      • I just mean more so the same pixel density of a 4k display.

  • Paid $1700 for similar spec Dell G7 17" a few weeks ago.
Why is this worth $2000 more??

If you want Razer, wait a few generations later…

    • Damn, I paid $2000 for a 2060 lappy. Where did they sell a $1700 2080?

        • Amazing price for a 2070!

Still happy to get my 2060 lappy. Prefer the standard form factor for its thermals, prefer the non-MaxQ GPU, and got a 1TB SSD in PCI-E.

          Thx for sharing :)

    • Razer tax.

    • me too - specs at that price just don't make the Razer worth it at all

Once I fixed the overheating issues, my G7 is working like a charm ;)

      • Heating issues? How did you fix it?

        • After the second day, the G7 17 was overheating just sitting there with no apps running
I thought because I had 3 USB's plugged in and transfering files it just went nuts, but alas even with all of these stopped and removed the problem continued.

If linkes don't work here, youtube search: DELL G7: Undervolted Vs Default i7 8750H config || Side by Side comparison

I read that the cpu isn't designed for this laptop, and is basically too big for its britches!

Anyway, undervolting reduces it a tincy bit and now I'm averaging between 45 and 76 degrees

          Problem fixed!

  • +1

Razer is shit. Their QC is shit. Their support is shit. Everything about them is shit. Dozens upon dozens of stories online about their notoriously faulty laptops and abysmal support.

    • Lived it myself - NEVER again

  • cheers op bought 4
