I have 1 of these and I can say even just having the single one it’s great quality. Was very happy with my move to sonos.

    • Few questions about your sub, do you notice any lag with it at all. I've used wireless subs in the bast and it's had a slight delay and kinda ruined the moment for me when watching movies.
Also how reliable is it? as in do you need to turn it off again periodically like most other tech things these days?

Sorry for the specific questions, I'm looking at doing a Sonof Beam & Sub setup but I'm just a little gun shy.

Sub is super responsive and powerful, I do have a good quality router though so I'm not sure if that's a factor. I haven't needed to turn mine off/on in the last two years I've had mine?

        • orly! that's pretty impressive.
I run a google mesh wifi + had most of my house done in cat6 when it was getting built so I can use that as well so I'm sure my network would be fine.
Was worried that I would get it and the completely non-technical wife would hate it as it would need to be periodically power cycled.

Also, they say that it doesn't rattle about in the product description, that just sounds like black magic marketing BS to me, or is it actually a thing?

@sc00terMcTav: Hey Doofguru. I run a Bean & Sub combo in the Lounge and have never had a problem of any kind in the last 18 months I've been running them. No sync issues, no lag issues, absolutely no rattles and I've never had to turn either device off in that entire time… they've just been rock solid performers as you'd expect from SONOS gear. I have them both connected via LAN cable but did run them for a while wirelessly and didn't notice any problems either.

There are a few bars and cafes near me who also run SONOS systems each including a Sub or two and it always amazes me how well they work in commercial environments. The most impressive is the one in the Messina Gelato store, a single SONOS Sub fills a huge area and is usually cranked for several hours a day and sounds amazing.

            • @SteveAndBelle: Ah brilliant, that's enough to sell me on the setup that's for sure.
Just need to hold myself back from getting the credit card out :P

@sc00terMcTav: Sorry for the late reply but I am in the same boat with the beam, Sub combo and I have never had to turn it off, never a rattle, never any lag it truly is built very well. I am running all mine through a Archer 5400 router. The build quality on the sub is amazing. I was worried getting the beam that I would regret getting it Vs the bigger Bar. But honestly the sub combined with the beam has been amazing. I also then upgraded mine to have the two play ones as rear left and right speakers. You will not regret the purchase mate.

How much fps does it get in fortnite?

  • Probably the best and most noticeable upgrade to any Sonos system.
Love mine and the deep powerful rumbles this puppy produces.

    Test movie scene suggest:

    Gives me chills every time!!

  • Sonos will create its own mesh network separate to your WiFi if you can get an Ethernet into one of your speakers.

Must much more reliable Wireless then!

    • That sounds pretty good. Do you have any documentation or links discussing this?

      • Sorry missed the spot to reply see below.

Wired setup: To overcome these limitations, you can keep one of your Sonos products connected to your router with an Ethernet cable, which will put your system in a wired setup. The wired product will create a dedicated wireless network specifically for your Sonos system, so it will not compete with the other wireless devices in your home for the router’s attention. Additionally, your Sonos products will be able to pass the wireless signal to other Sonos products, which means it’s possible for Sonos to operate in a room that is beyond the reach of your WiFi.

    • Interesting, I disabled the wireless on my beam once I had Ethernet hooked up. I wonder if this also disables this feature

  • So tempted… Just got 2 SLs and the beam..

    • If you want, get one from sonos.com.au for $100 more, but it will give you 100 days money back peace of mind.

  • Managed to get the good guys to beat Amazon price albeit by $10 on each, on top of that the guy chucked in 3 years concierge warranty etc for each. On the invoice was put on as $95 on each product.
Pretty happy with that. Wasn't going to get the Sonos one but after a bit of research a few places had them for $229 each down from the standard $299 so decided to go all in and get 2 to setup surround
