  • <—-waiting for the lady boy jokes!

Now all they need is a cheap flights deal and they are set!

Wow this is quite cheap, thanks for this OP.

Any one actually been to this place before?

    • Koh Samui is a very beautiful island nestled in the South of Thailand. Its one hour flight from Bangkok but i recommend getting the boat from Suarai Thani across to the island which takes about an hour. The weather there is unbelievable and the sky and water crystal blue and the sands are golden. There is so much to do on the island and it is one of the best places in the world to travel too.

  • For return flights from Phuket (example), Bangkok Airways are charging roughly $340ish return pp, in early Dec…something to keep in mind I guess. TripAdvisor shows good reviews, but add $700 if you're going to Phuket first…

    • I don't understand cathead! If you said Bangkok Airways is charging roughly $340ish return pp in early dec, what is with the extra 700$???!

Return trip from Koh Samui is roughly 900$ per person around mid november

Could you also link me to that offer of yours?

      Thanks

      • maybe the 700 is the flight from Oz to Phuket first?

Bangkok Air and Thai Air fly from Bangkok to Samui or Firefly flies from Kuala Lumpur to Samui, so you can fly from Oz to Bangkok, KL or Phuket to get to Samui

        • their all over 1000$ AUD+ around that period.

Air Asia is your best bet and get a boat from Surai Thani across

I'm not entirely sure I'd trust Scoopon with an OS holiday, given their track record.

Sure, it's bad enough getting turned away or stiffed on the deal at an Aussie restaurant etc where you can just go home & fight it out the next day; but imagine having your coupon declined for one of their partners' usual asinine reasons once you leave this country & lob up at your hotel/resort in KS & having to find accommodation at short notice abroad…not my cup of cha! ;)

    • Exactly my thoughts!

      • should I be worried?! :(

  • At about 1500 baht per night there are better located hotels in Samui for the same or a little more.

As mentioned Bangkok Air own Samui airport therefore all airfares are fixed at a high price, so you need to get Samui via Phuket or Bangkok first!

    • or from Surai Thani via Air Asia and the ferry across to the island which takes an hour

Having sat back for over 1 year and a half and only viewing endorsements/comments on bargains posted as you are all so much more IT/electronically savvy than I, at last I can offer my fervent traveler's opinion. Yes, Samui is a private airport and has restricted access but there is one (other) budget airline operating from within Malaysia and that is firefly.
For RM198 (approx $65) you get one way from Subang Airport to Samui.
Subang is the old international airport for KL-much nearer to KL than LCCT.
firefly is the only 'other' airline with access to Samui than those mentioned above. Happy holiday. Bin

Anyone interested in daily deals should check out sites like 'allthedeals.com.au. No need to re-post them here in my view.

there are so many 'deals' on that site that I'd prefer not to have to sift through, so I'm more than happy for just the good ones to be posted here.

Sounds like a family destination. Not interested! When I go to Thailand I want to be knee deep in Klunj. Now if the island is a Ladyboy Paradise I would definately be interested!
