    No thanks lol

  • That resolution :(

Still good for 720p if you're sitting far enough away though.

      It's a 32" tv… Resolution will hardly make a difference.

How close do you normally sit?

  • The promotion makes you pay extra?

    • Someone has to pay extra, there's no such thing as a free lunch.

      • $128 is ok for a disposable TV… also good if you have a console I guess…

no one is buying this shit for $199

4k 50-55" TVs can be had on gumtree for $199, why anyone would buy this for full price is beyond me.. does have some merit I guess at $99 for someone who just needs a cheap outside tv or kids room set up etc

    • 4k 50-55" TVs can be had on gumtree for $199

I thought that was very low, so I did two gumtree searches for "4K UHD". One Australia wide, and one for within 20km of me (Brisbane). Australia wide I absolutely found some TVs for ~$199 although none that were 50-50". These deals were 90% focused in Melbourne with a few in Sydney. When I switched to a local search though the cheapest TV was $550 for a 32" and the majority were $900-$1200.

So, to answer your question as to why anyone would pay "full price" on a $99 TV, the answer is simply that not everyone has access to the pricing you're describing on gumtree. People in different areas value things differently and buying it brand new from a store means it comes with a warranty.

      • That's a shame. Even in Sydney there are people over pricing TVs, but I guess due to more people there would be more chances for deals. I picked up a dumb bauhn 58" TV for $150 2 weeks ago

Should be illegal to sell a TV with a resolution lower than FHD

    • +10

Should it be illegal to broadcast in SD?

My 2010 panasonic plasma is only HD but cant let myself upgrade till something goes wrong with this TV.
      One day…

Had the same thoughts with mine til I got a 75 led and started saving $200 a quarter on the power bill

Should be illegal to make bulky products so cheap that they’re essentially disposable.

I’m all for this type of item being made accessible to people who can’t afford a $300 Aiwa or $1000 Samsung though.

  • Bought the hisense 32R4 during the eBay sale for about $250 and that's including the $30 delivery fee lol

Good price for my toilet tv

    • Bathroom is probably the only appropriate room for this TV.

But seriously… $99 for a brand new TV is insane. Shipping is a killer though

  • Once you get a document up on that baby, you are seriously looking at that document.

    • Are we still talking about this in the toilet? Watching "documents"?

      • I thought you published the documents at the end.

I realise that this is a bad TV. But I'm still tempted to buy one for the spare room.

I used my RACV membership to get 5% off a $200 WISH Gift Cards. And used it to buy the TV. Thanks OP.
