Just had a chat with an Optus rep:

If you upgrade existing number Plus add a new second service then you will get 25% discount on the second service.
Only mobile or sim and plan.
We offer this discount from our side. It's not mentioned on CIS.

  You dont need a second connection.. I had a chat with a rep yesterday and they offered me 25% on the Sim only plan without any contract …

  So the $49 plan comes down to $36.5 I think…

      Thats why I saved the chat :D Will use it as a weapon and see.. I need to switch providers today anyways

      edit: on chat with rep and they are denying any such offer :( Even with proof provided they cant honour if its only a first service… bummer

  Unconfirmed deal, and could have been offered as a once off during a chat with a single customer. There's no reference to it anywhere, so not sure how this can be considered a deal. Belongs in the forums.

  Been on the chat with Optus sales team and im having real trouble trying to get this.

  II have 2 x leases that end March 3rd, so will be buying the phones back from optus.

  Looking to get two more plans on S10's with $39 sim plan.

  But online chat is proving really difficult to deal with. They keep saying its new contracts with new numbers that the 25% applies to.

  I cant get a firm answer if that means i can take up new plans and port my numbers into them.

  Really frustrating. Looks like i may need to buy the phones and transfer the numbers to aldi mobile or similar, then purchase two new optus plans and port the numbers back in….

  Edited to add that as soon as i mentioned my idea above to them they cancelled the online chat…

    I did web chat with a rep and they wouldn't offer me any discounts for adding a second service.

  Chatted with the rep. The deal is valid if you get a new service ( mobile or sim only) with new number. Existing 2 services do not qualify for 25% off.
