      • With the price I m paying for this is a little disappointing if other competitors can do the better job at a cheaper price.

        • Consider ANC in this size, only AirPods and Sony WF. None of them provide great call quality in noisy environment unfortunately.

  • Can anyone recommend a decent earphone with good call quality being the priority?

    • +1

Only Jabra is good enough for call quality.

      • if you're talking about the Jabra talk series then yeah, not sure about the others, I have a Jabra 65t and I can only make good quality calls standing still

        • +1

I used the 65t in shopping centres and streets, walking around isn’t a problem for me. The wind noise isn’t as bad as the Sony WF.

  • Anyone know how these stack up against the Jabra Elite 75t, comfort-wise? Reviews seem to suggest they're about the same except i prefer the looks on Jabra more minimalist.

Word of warning.. Terrible head phones.. Loses connection to my phone so easily, just having my phone in my pocket it struggles. If sitting at my desk is fine but get your body in the way and it drops out.. Also the noise cancelling is nothing like they advertise.. I used them on a plane and could hear the plane noise so it was back to my over ears which then provided silence..

    • Other people have different experiences. Maybe you are not getting a good seal? You tried different ear gels?

    • +1

I have a pair and have gifted 3 of these.

ANC and sound quality are great, so much so that I immediately sold my QCIIs.

Call quality is not up to par though, but at least that's my admittedly lowest use case for them.

Also have the WH1000xM3s and though the headphones have better ANC, they are always more annoying to wear and use, mess up your hair etc.

Perhaps you just got a dud pair or they don't seal your ears correctly.

Cheapest price ever was $175 when you use the code and amex cashback, and buy 2 pairs: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/476608

    • Definitely a great deal that one. I sold one of mine so ended up essentially paying $50 for the one I kept.

  • Just order through the cashback offer, says it's shipping before 22 Feb, so it should be tracked as per the shopback guideline right?

  • +1

Just price matched through jbhifi. Nice to have them now instead of in 2 months

    • could you upload your receipt pls? I will add it the post.

Shouldnt need it, JB has never had any issue pricematching in the past. Just show them the amazon website.

One thing to note is when they search it up it may show the Mwave $380 price (which is what happened and they refused to match $300). I then told them to click the 'other sellers' button and it showed the amazon price. Then they matched it.

I also got the extended warranty for $45 (good deal for 3 years of warrantry with immidiate replacement, especially for something like headphones)

What do they do if the model is discontinued and there's no stock?

          • @lostn: Gift card with the value of the product

            • @cheesecactus: I think I'd rather get TGG to price match it than JB. TGG has the same deal but pays $20 x9 store credits.

        • JbHifi at nunawading told me that they will not price match the offer because the product is sold by third party. Any advice?

          • @Spoofygoof: They must have checked and seen mwave. As I mentioned, they have to click on other sellers to see the sold by Amazon price.

  • wasn't going to do it, but I have calculated that after a price protection claim, cashback and TRS I will have paid $221.22 for the silver one. Without TRS will be $255.12.

It eats into my $900 TRS budget though.

Never mind, Amazon sold out. So that's over. Didn't want them anyway, so I should be happy.

  • Would this be able to be claimed under TRS? It seems like it has been missed by 1 cent.

    • +1

It could be multiple transactions as long as they are all from Amazon AU I think, so you could combine with some other Amazon purchases

      • I think you are correct. I'm just a little confused with this paragraph it says

"If you are aged 18 years or over, you can bring up to AUD 900 worth of goods into Australia duty-free if the total value of the goods you are bringing into Australia that you purchased overseas or for which you have claimed a refund under TRS is greater than your passenger concession:

you must declare all of the goods

you must declare all of the goods

you will need to repay the GST refund back on the goods you claimed under the TRS

duty and GST will apply to all items purchased, not just goods over the limit of your passenger concession."

So does that mean if I buy a camera from Amazon Australia that is worth over $2000 AUD and this earphone, must I pay the tax back when I come back to Australia?

        • If you use the TRS scheme to claim tax back when you leave the country then I think you do need to declare them again when you come back especially since they are significantly above the tax free threshold. If you don't do TRS when you leave the country then I don't think that you need to declare them when you come back

          • @ln28909: Thanks for the help! I ended up cancelling the order as the delivery period got moved to a later period.

  • My item has shipped! Lucky didn't had to wait till end of Feb.
