  • Great shop and a very good deal!

  • Fujifilm X-T3 is $1678 before cashback at digidirect. I price matched at JBhi for $1660 yesterday so cheaper is available here https://www.digidirect.com.au/cameras/fujifilm-x-t3-body-bla…

  • Best price yet as far I’m aware. Awesome deal

    Thanks, i'm going for it.

Does anyone know if I can use a trick to get it detax at the airport with an domestic flight ?

That's for my sister so I'll send it to Europe anyway, would be awesome if I can get the tax back without leaving aus myself.

Also did anyone dealt with these cashbacks ? A condition is to be Australian resident so I guess my working holiday visa won't work. Is it just about paying with the credit card of a resident ? And claiming for him, that will do the trick ?

    • Australia has a "Tourist Refund Scheme" where you can claim back the 10% GST if you travel overseas. It won't work in your case as the camera must travel with you to a destination outside of Australia.

For Cashbacks, if I recall correctly, all you need is an Australian Bank Account to deposit the Cashback into. The assumption is that if you have an Australian Bank Account then you are most likely an Australian Resident.

      • Yeah I doubt they would check the visa that's true, but I'm not a resident. My ask a friend to make the purchase just to be sure.

And yeah the detax only work at international airport apparently, anyway still awesome deal

    • TRS only valid for international passenger flight outbound. This is the ONLY way. no tricks or other way

cashback, you can choose bank deposit (done this lots of time) or cheque (from my memory)

      • So no problem about the fact that I'm only temporary resident?

      • Bank deposit is best. No waiting for cheque.

I was overseas and trs money deposited in my account while i was still overseas.

    • I'm going away for real and still wouldn't bother claiming TRS on it since it's above the $900 limit which means on the way back you'd have to pay it all back unless you have enough people with you that you can pool with.

      • +1

True, but they rarely check even if you don't declare. Once I declared and officer and duty CBf calculating the amount payable and let it go.

        • i've heard stories that if you claim TRS on an item above $900, they flag your passport so that when you return, the person checking it will ask you about it and inspect your bags if you didn't declare it on the way in.

If you're honest like you were, they might be lenient and just let you off. But if you're not doing things proper, they even more likely to scrutinise you.

        • The same happened to me.

Took mine back. Couldn't get used to the slow auto focus at this price point.

  • Good camera
    Good price
    Good store

  • any deals on fast media to put in the camera?

  • how much does the lens stick out? Some are crazy.

  • Good package for 2019 that has a body and a lens, however for that range one should really look into spend a bit more and invest in an A7iii.

BTW Camera gears in the last few years has really shot up in price, deals below which I take up were never seen these days:

    1 X-E1 with same 18-55 lens $650, I eventually get the 55-200 for another $600 Digidirect
    2 X-T1 with 18-135 $1299 Teds Camera via EBAY
    3 Sony A6000 $1 with trade in a Panasonic G5 Georges Camera
    4 Nikon 5500 + 35DX1.8 50G 1.8 and 85 1.8G, about 1500 all up. Good guy via ebay.
