  • I still can’t figure out how to make this app work on my Xbox one even with VPN

    • I use Getflix - my router points to their DNS servers. I don't need to turn the VPN itself or anything, and it works fine with my Xbox One.

Yeah don’t need a VPN, a DNS service is sufficient.

Black Friday was the time to join at $2USD a month. Last year was even better at $1 a month.

I believe some AU credit cards will work fine if you add a 0 to the front of the post code, where others may not. Amex issues card seems to be fine.

        • Bugger, missed that this year. Was on the $1 a month the previous year

        • Also got the $1.99USD/mth deal!

      • If I change the DNS to Getflix’s DNS on my router, do I actually need to sign up to Getflix? Their DNS is listed on their website.

My guess is it won’t work. When you have an account you can set different regions for different services etc, so they can obviously work out who is connecting. Presumably non users will have their traffic blocked.

Yeah you verify/link your IP with Getflix, that authorises your access to the VPN

  • Doesn't work for me. I expected to have trouble to be honest. Subscribing to American services (that don't have an Australian equivalent) is not that easy.

I got trouble in the payment section. I tried paypal, but my paypal wasn't registered in the US, then I tried mastercard and got an error.

then I tried refreshing and got a domain error, and now can't even access the site at all.

I'm sure someone will say…well just open another paypal and register to the US or get an American card etc…but that is a little more than I "bargained for"

I'm not sure if it was the zipcode that I entered that created the fastly domain error.

I'd be interested to see if anyone gets this done.

I commented above but my understanding is its a bit of luck as to what the credit card will accept. With Amex issued cards in my experience if you prepend a 0 to the postcode it works fine (renewed Nov during Black Friday). We have friends that tried with bank issued Mastercards who couldn't do the same trick.

      • I am going to try with prepaid mastercards. Yes I have tried with both an issued Mastercard and an issued Visacard and both do not work.

American Express and Amex sound like good options for people who have them, but I don't. My dad does have an American express card, which I might try though as a last resort.

I don't want to risk creating a US paypal, don't want to run foul of Paypal (I like their service).

I think I'll give it a shot tomorrow. I am interested to see what this service looks like, never seen it before, onyl heard of it.

Another option for those who are interested is to use giftcards (bought from Amazon etc.), but I don't think you can use giftcards as the initial payment option for the trial.

I created a US PayPal account, added my Velocity Global Wallet card as a payment method and loaded US dollars to the card. Then signed up for Hulu via VPN (I use Windscribe but you could also use Getflix DNS as mentioned above), using PayPal as a payment method.

I've got hulu using getflix DNS and subscribed using american express card. Works with windscribe VPN too.
