Great price for a decent portable speaker.
Unfortunately I bought it last week for $135. Normally retails for $199.

      Just go to JB or GG and get them to price match, pretty sure they wont care about colour. Black looks the best, unless you’re into dusty pink.

      I got both and there is an obvious difference. The charge 4 is better in sound quality, loudness and has the ability to charge other devices.

      If you really want to compare UE with JBL, the megaboom provides much better competition, however still lacks the clarity forms on JBL speakers

      I found the charge 4 had better bass. I also liked the charge port, will come in handy camping.
      UE has 360 degree sound where as the JBL is only front facing.

        That's pretty much what I said… Except that yea the 360 Degree sound is one major difference, however most people would rather choose the major sound quality improvement rather than the 360 - Especially at this price point

      As zackeroo said, boom 3 is not in the same leage with the charge 4. The megaboom is what more comparable to the charge 4

    I got a JBL Link 20 for $195 at Officeworks. With Google Assistant, that seems better value for money.

    Great speaker for a brilliant price. Got one for $120 a month ago for a present.

    I went with the Sony XB41 for myself. Has a lot of useless features and you need to turn the extra bass off, but the sound is perfect and battery lasts forever.

    I'd prob get the Charge 4 in hindsight just for the connect feature.

    Sounds a bit tinny and distorted when you turn it up

    This is a mono speaker whereas the JBL3 was Stereo

    For $99 it’s still an ok deal

      I just got this and I haven’t quite broken them in
      But what I can hear: quite distorted at high volumes with lots of bass (e.g hardstyle) but otherwise it’s okay. Bass is okay but a little subtle if you want the oomph.
      Another thing to note: this thing is heavy!

      Good deal for $99

      what does it matter? Stereo is only useful when you have two speakers in different parts of the room.

        Yes. I have compared both. This one sounds better than the Bose soundlink mini.

        I think the Bose mini is a tad too small to create the bass

          Came here to say this..

          I find Bose sounds a lot sharper and crispier.. but it lacks the bass when you just want to turn the music up and blast it for a backyard gathering.

    Great deal. Best Bluetooth speaker under $200

    I got mine on sale for $135

    If anyone is considering a Bluetooth speaker this is the one you want.

    Great sound quality, 20hour battery, great Bluetooth range, waterproof, robust, and loud. I have it in my kitchen when cooking.

      Very happy with the speaker too btw. Have had a few cheap ones (Xiaomi X2, and bluedio) and this blows them away. I see the value, particularly at this price.
      Makes me wish I hadn't bothered setting up my old Logitech 2.1 in my pergola now. It certainly goes louder of course, but frankly I rarely have cause to turn it up that far.
