Must be best price yet for the Evo 128gb or close to?

  • +5

AU $14.95 for Standard Postage, AU $49.95 for Express Postage…. LOL

    • +3

Or $0 with eBay Plus like most of us got for free including free trial

      • +2

Yeah but I can see what they're trying to do… Force the ebay plus signup LOL

        • +2

ebay are allowing sellers to gouge them on the shipping fees to encourage ebay plus signups. If/when the ebay plus user levels plateau then I can see them cracking down on these.

    • I agree. The title should include the default or minimum postage charge. + Delivery is misleading. ebay's policy of jacking up delivery charges to push ebay plus is a scam.

  • What do you guys use these memory cards for?

Would the Evo Plus be good for 4k video recording on the GoPro 8? I think previously with GoPro I have used the Extreme version of the cards. I suppose the Evo Plus would be good for expandable phone memory maybe?

    • +1

      Dashcams and rpis

      • +1

You would use the High Endurance models for the dashcam wouldn't you? Or do you use the Evo PLus?

        • +1

Yup high endurance for the dash cams

          • @keongyip: Thanks, ordered 1 each of the 128gb.

    • You want to buy A1 tag cards for phone memory for better IO performance.
You want to buy V60 or V90 tag cards for 4K recording.

      • No need for that, V30 is plenty fast for 4K60 even 4K120. You only need 15MB/s sustained write speed for that and V30 is rated twice as fast.

        • Can confirm. I've been using V30 for 4K60 on my G9 for the last couple years, never had an issue. With burst RAW photos however, is a different story. I'll do 7 shot exposure bracketing and after doing the initial set of 7, I have to wait for it to write to the card or else it stutters

      • You'll want the A2 for Application performance (4000 vs 1500 IOPS). Lexar 633x is A2 rated but I'd avoid that one at all costs.

These Samsung's seem great for larger file writes (Think video, images for camera etc) but smaller files not as good as some of the others .

  • cards galore

C'mon doweyy you're killing me here - been waiting for a deal so I bought this one and accepted that I lost 5c when this deal came up, but now you're telling me I could have saved an extra 94c per card??

OzB Cone of Shame for me

  • don't forget the Eneloop Pro batteries

    • Only 900mAh though.

  • Only need 32 or 16GB

    • +7

      ok

    • +1

Plenty of those still around if you want one.

    • +2

Cut the 128GB in to quarters.

  • +2

I've been Ozbargained. I have no immediate use for this 128GB EVO Plus Micro SD card, but this deal was too good to pass up. For comparison, it's currently selling at Harvey Norman for $58

    • +1

400GB has been $69 or less.

When you really need that much 128GB, you can spend the same price $28 for a 400GB one

  • +2

    Damn, my total is $16.77

    • I'm seeing as an eBay plus customer $27.65 less $11 = &16.65

  • Thanks got high endurance for a new blackvue dashcam. Hope it's a good choice.

    • +1

Yes good choice. Been using the 64gb in my Blueskysea B1W for over a year now without any issues. Before that I was using a regular Sandisk and it made the video very choppy. High endurance is the way to go.

  • Bought Samsung EVO Plus 128GB! Great price.

  • What write/read speeds should I expect from Evo cards? Bought two 64Gb cards from previous deal and one tested at 16.4 MByte/s write and 1.95 MByte/s read using H2testw.

    • Wondering the same thing, I've read great things about the Evo and own many of them however only one 128gb that's in daily use. I got a 128 Evo since I got my Note8, maybe it's just old but write speed sucks. It goes fast then pauses and slows to crawl. Do sd cards degrade this bad?

    • Here is a CrystalDiskMark result of the 128GB EVO Plus

From experience, these cards are able to sustain the full 80MB/s write speed throughout a full disk write (writing 128GB to the disk), so should be perfectly adequate for even the highest bitrate video recording. Random I/O is a different story. It's good enough, but you can definitely get something faster (eg. SanDisk A1/A2 rated microSD).

That said, I imagine most people purchasing these are using them for heavily sequential workloads, which from what I have seen, they are perfectly suited for.

      • Ah well, my 64Gb gets a best of 18.88 Mb/s read and write (SEQ1M Q1T1) in CrystalDiskMark so nothing compared to yours.

  • Omg I paid $0.74 more 3 days ago … Damn

Prob should get 2x of these now …
    🤣

  • Coming up as about $42 delivered for an 128GB EVO plus card. Is that really cheap? Good for the Nintendo switch?

You need eBay Plus to get free delivery, otherwise the shipping is a bit of a ripoff.
