[Early Access] Up to 50% off Food at Selected Restaurants during The Fork Festival @ The Fork (Formerly Dimmi)

1380

Received an email that The Fork Festival is back with up to 50% off selected restaurants and "early access available now for VIPs".

The Fork Festival is not advertised or linked on the website yet (presumably due to the "early access"?) and the email click through just went through to the normal booking search page, but it appears you can you can access the Fork Festival deals manually in booking search by selecting:
- Search
- Filters
- TheFork Selections
- TheFork Festival

Participating restaurants vary by location; a couple of example venues in Melbourne include The Meat and Wine Co, Din Tai Fung, Pretty Boy Italian Steakhouse, South Wharf Meat Market.

NB:
- Discount generally applies to Food only (not drinks), but check the individual restaurant terms when booking
- Discount may not apply to all dates/times
- Yes, am aware that a lot of the participating restaurants already offer similar/comparable The Fork discounts ongoing, but definitely not all of them (e.g. Meat & Wine Co)
- Not 100% confirmed, but a bit of googling shows that this Fork Festival runs until 09 February

Email Terms & Conditions:
Up to 50% off food at participating restaurants on selected days and times. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Restaurant T&CS may apply, check when booking.

Excellent deal, especially for din Tai Fung and meat & Wine Co!

    • +1

Agreed. For Melbourne at least a few of the new places added (so wasn't discounted yesterday) like Thai tini, blossom Thai and Campari house are on Zomato gold. I've been to these and can vouch for them.

Edit: heaps of these places are actually in Zomato been to yassas and co hanh both are pretty good.

      • I’ve been curious about Zomato Gold; how have you found it, good value/deals?

        • Zomato gold used to be good.

However, they've sneakily introduced a percentage discount option for restaurants in addition to the 1 for 1 food. New restaurants coming on board are mostly 10-20% discount. Also, the most sneaky thing is that existing restaurants on 1 for 1 food and moving across to the percentage discount option.

          • @jecec: Yep I signed up the second it launched and it was amazing at first. Used it like 40 times the first month. However a heap of places have left i count 6 brunch spots and many more places. Its still good for drinks but not so much for food. The new percentage discount is ok as there many places that didnt use to be discount even through eatclub or liven but 10-15 percent isnt amazing.

    • Those two are on my list too; always love Meat and Wine Co, and have been meaning to try Din Tai Fung for a while, so worked out well! :)

      • Are you on Liven app? You should be able to use it to pay at Din Tai Fung to get 5% value back. Also get a referral code for $15 on signup.

  • Can you pay with Yums for this deal?

    • +2

Either yums or 50 percent off. A ton of overlap though I used yums at tulum and now it's 50 percent off. I feel for the restraunts as it's now up to 50 dollars off but the list of participating stores is honestly crap and usually discounted anyway.

  • +1

Sydney 's list is disappointing. Hopefully they will add more good restaurants

  • I'm looking at the meat and wine co 50% off deal in Perth however the menu shown on the fork website doesn't include steaks. Does the deal only include the menu items shown on the menu on the website and not the full menu i.e steaks? It's my first time looking at this website so I don't want to book it and miss out on the best part of meat & wine co!

    • +2

The Fork used to link the full menu on each venue page, but they recently updated the format to show just a limited “Chef Recommends” menu, which I’m not a fan of personally. But in my experience, the discount should apply to all food on the full menu, not just what is shown on the preview menu list. Any specific terms and conditions/restrictions for the offer will be shown when you click through to book (e.g sometimes discount excludes set menus or desserts etc.). And yes, absolutely agree, steaks are the best thing about Meat and Wine Co! :)

      • Thanks a lot for replying! Will definitely book :)

      • So does the fork and the restaurant a message with the 50% off information. Just want to make sure there's no confusion when I get to the restaurant!

Just to confirm I have tried the Perth M&WC last week and got 50% entire menu including steaks, excluding the lunch offer and drinks.

  • Just booked Lola and Wren, meat and wine, ding Tai Fung and lezzet thanks op. I actually saw this link a few weeks ago but not the list of participating stores.https://www.theforkmanager.com/au/blog/thefork-festival/

Great, sounds similar to my hit list; I love the Lezzet platter, worth a look if you haven’t tried it!

      • We love Lezzet! The platter was insane and covered tomorrow's lunch too.

  • Thanks for sharing, booked a few over the next five weeks. Also really appreciate the search function details that were provided. Makes it so much easier to search

    • +1

Great; included that as it took a bit of clicking around to figure out the search filters as the email had no instructions/info so was useless lol, so am glad it helped!

SWEETYUMS code still works for bonus yums.

    • Thanks for the tip, thought that had expired! Will give it a go, as never got round to using it in December.

    • I used it once so it didn't work for me again

  • +2

Slim pickings in Sydney compared to what used to be around in Dimmi

  • Adelaide is 75% all Indian lol

    • Can't see this, only 50%… Links?

      • 75% restaurants. Not discount.

        • This,;sorry for the confusion 😬

  • keep getting "Your booking has not been confirmed. Please check the information". Anyone getting the same error?

    • Yes, getting same error. Which restaurant were you trying to book?

  • +2

Omg last time this deal was going i used it sooo much to go to one of my favorite restaurants in Melbourne (Third Wave Cafe) and this time they are part of it again!!! Time to get fat on slow smoked meats and amazing burgers again.

    We love:
    Lezzet - platters are huge!
Bangpop thai - water front dinning
Meat Market - ^ and steaks
DTF - love it only with a discount

Wow there is a lot of Indian!

Oh no… like zomato gold it's not solo dinning friendly.
All the offers require you to book a min. table of two. Max 4.
I'll update you on where I go and if I still get the discount dining solo.

Btw any recommendations for asian places in the SE area?

  • I've never used TheFork before - does 50% discount apply only on the dishes showing on TheFork menu?

    • +1

No, all - but set menu may not be.

    • +1

Food only. And some places only allow this offer for two or more people

      • ^ all the place I looked at are 2+

        • I guess it's all places lol. I looked at two places only and both needed at least two people.

  • Good deal but shame that DTF deal is for lunch only?

    • I got us in for a 5pm dinner. Think there was only two slots for dinner.

      • 5:30pm for me. I want to change it to 3 but now it is no longer available :(

  • Trying to book for dinner and it says "Preset menus and drinks not included". So does that mean it only includes ordering from a menu?

    • +2

From the a la carte menu where you order by the dish

  • Oh well not much for Sydney

  • +1

Casa Nom (Prahran) was good, more tapas than meal style in case anyone wanted to know.

  • +1

Has anyone tried to book at Din Tai Fung? seems like there are no 50% discount times in the next 2 weeks

    • Yes I did, was looking at dinner and there was like two time slots. Of all the places I booked it had the least slots.

      • Nope. There is none for the next 2 months. How did you did get?

  • PSA: More places have been added. DTF is off the list.

We ate at Meat & Wine Co (Camberwell) full house on a Friday night, it was excellent.

    Adding to our list:
Curry Smuggler - Been here before, love the butter chicken
    3 Sons Brunch

    • How does camberwell compare to south yarra any idea? I'm closer to camberwell but the south yarra branch looks nicer from what I can see.

      • I was at Camberwell, he went to South Yarra. Camberwell is cozy, set in an old bank. South Yarra has seating in the middle of the quiet mall which is nice too. Both places are close to the movies. Idk where to park for Camberwell though (Coles and walk).

Btw dessert isn't 50% off, I spoke to dimmi and they gave me extra points instead.
Some places (short black, camberwell) only discount mains. Sadly unlike liven they aren't there to back you up.

        • Camberwell Meat & Wine Co gave me dessert 50% off on Saturday 11th…

          • @BobLim: Damn, I was there last Friday.

            • @anastasiastarz: :( wouldn't discounting just mains not be allowed given it explicitly says food, and dessert is certainly food not a drink. I havent ordered any desserts yet but I'll certainly keep and eye out. How many points did they give you if you don't mind me asking I've had a few annoying experiences as well. One time I used yums and the restaurant was closed so they credited me 1000 yums bonus. However another time the place didn't honour it as they claimed they never signed up and I didn't get any bonus yums.

              • @gottacatchemall: 700 I believe from the European division (dessert was $12 btw) they had live chat on the app at like 9pm. Au version you've have to email them the receipt, eu thinks au closes at 7pm.

  • Black Toro was amazing, skip Casa Nom (tapas bar). Hoping to go again before the end of the month!

  • EXTENDED!!!!!! 29th Feb just got the email
