      • Name checks out

    • +1

paid less than this 2 years ago…

ps4 pro aint worth more than $300… console has >1 year life…

      • +1

you mean <1 year shelf life yea.

    • +12

10+ months from now, some people might want to play some games in the mean time.

      • The Last of Us Part 2 is out before then so I'm definitely upgrading for the Pro experience.

    • +11

out in 10 months and double the price. these constant comments on ps4 posts are tiresome.

      • When PS5 comes out, people will be whinging about PS6. Why stress about these comments when they WILL always be apart of these console posts. Stress less, turn off the PC/phone and go on with life :)

        • Why stress about these comments when they WILL always be apart of these console posts.

Oh if only they were confined to PS4 deals…

They're a staple of nearly every single tech deal where a successor product has been announced (especially GPUs, CPUs, storage); doesn't matter if it's releasing in 10 months or 2 years, some moron always feels to compelled to let people know that they're literally burning their money because the next generation product that'll likely be delayed, will be marginally better for 3 times the price. According to these people it's never a good time to buy any tech products, even if you actually need them immediately, because something better is always on the horizon.

        • I think you mean PS5 Pro in 2025. PS6 will be in like 2030.

      • double :D and the rest! doubt you'll get change from 1K…

      • double the price but ~5x faster

you're looking at something with these kind of specs: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/510117

if you're looking to upgrade then waiting can pay off here

        • +1

5x faster than the PS4 Pro? No chance. PS5 will probably be 5x faster than the PS4, but not the PS4 Pro.

          • +1

@FabMan: right my bad, but even against the pro:

            gpu ~3x
            cpu 2x ipc, 1.5x clockspeed, hyperthreading x1.3 = ~4x

    • +1

This is probably the best time to dive in. All the games are relatively cheap now and the library is huge.

    • +1

And when ps5 comes out. Your comment will be ps6 out soon? So when will you actually recommend a console to buy because if you are always going to recommend the one not out yet. Seems to me no one will ever get to buy anything. Just forever waiting.

Everyone else blown away by the amazing new PS5 logo?

      • -1

        It's so beautiful…
        :')

        • hahah its actually funny how people over reacts on the logo, I just simply wish this new console allow the developer to make games quicker, which is what Sony is aiming to to.

          • +1

@Taro Milk Tea: I hope not I'm sick of getting half cooked games…

      • +1

TBH Ps2 had the best logo…

Imagine that logo on the chassis lit up by RGB…

        • -1

No thanks. Not a fan of the RGB fad, ostentatious and juvenile.

    • It's a recognizable brand so it's not really a surprise that it looks the same.

    • Shut up and take my money!!!!!!

  • +3

I should've created a new post, I've missed out on so many internet points

    • truth be told, not wurf

support aussie and buy from target or should i say tarjey

    • -6

      *Sent from my iPhone

Target Corporation is the eighth-largest retailer in the United States, and is a component of the S&P 500 Index.

      • +10

Target Australia is owned by Wesfarmers, same as Bunnings. The branding and trademarks are licensed.

        There is no other affiliation.

        • +4

45% of Aussies shares are owned by foreigners, we can keep going back and forth but it isn't as simple as 'support the local Aussie battler' every time an Amazon/Apple type comment/post is made.

          • +4

@tightm8: How about buy from a retailer that treats its staff well?

Horrific stories from US Amazon warehouse workers… wagie cagie and all.

            • +4

@MementoMori: Target Australia also committed massive accounting fraud a couple of years ago, not to mention a bundle of other controversial decisions made by Wesfarmers. I don't want this to devolve into a huge debate (it's OzBargain after all, not OzPolitics) but it's clearly not as simple as one being good and the other bad.

Also completely anecdotally I worked for Target many years ago and was treated terribly by Australian standards, so I personally have no problem buying from Amazon.

Cheapest price for a pro yet!

  • Shopback increase when?

  • -1

Contemplating whether or not to sell my phat PS4 and get one of these, although I don't have a 4k TV

    • +1

Similar predicament. Most people will say wait for PS5 and Xbox X and not to upgrade what you currently have but as the new consoles are still 11+ months away I am not sure my patience can last that long!

Thinking if I buy an Xbox One X or PS4 Pro in the meantime it might encourage me to update my projector from 1080 to 4k…. pretty sure after 7 years the lamp must be due to go in it soon anyway!

So tempted to pull the trigger on this deal even though part of me knows I don't really need to…. suppose I could get about $200 back for my phat PS4 based on what they are selling for on ebay…. still have box and it's well looked after.

    • +1

I'm holding off. Not too much benefit and it's a pain in the butt to sell.
Next gen will be backwards compatible, so they claim.

      • Yeah I think I might just hold off too.

Mainly want a Pro for FF7 Remake, but I'm sure it won't be the biggest difference, and it's meant to be PS5 compatible too which will be even further enhanced.

      • Yep, I know what you mean about selling. I always have good intentions to sell old tech that I replace but seldom get around to it!

  • Bought a Samsung 4k TV and a PS4 pro, games look and play great in 4K …
Some bargain deals on here lately.

  • Dont forget flybys which you can link at checkout or on your target account as well. I saved 20 dollars more by using 4000 points.
Ended up being $349 in total.

  • I used ebay Price Guarantee to get further 5% off and then pay with ebay Gift cards to further reduce.Ps4 pro 1TB for below $300 after TRS here I come

    • can i ask a few questions about trs?
1- Do we have to bring back the products to australia that we claimed for?
2- When we claim them, can they still be in their original packaging or we have to start using the products? This is related to the question above that is why it must sound stupid:)
3- i bought 2 of the same product, Can i make a claim for both at the same time?

      anybody please help, thank you.

      • +1

Do we have to bring back the products to australia that we claimed for?

You dont have to. If you do want to you have to make sure your within your trs quoata of $900

When we claim them, can they still be in their original packaging or we have to start using the products? This is related to the question above that is why it must sound stupid:)

No it does not have to be in its original packaging.

i bought 2 of the same product, Can i make a claim for both at the same time?

Its not about the number or items. Its the price. Is it within you trs quota of $900? If its not then you may have to pay back the money you claimed on trs.

        • It's totally 1150 dollars, 575 dollars, two items. So how does it work now? I claim up to 900 and not worry about the rest? Or claim 1200 first and then pay back proportionately whatever above 900?

          • +1

@baldur: If you are travelling with someone. You can pool your trs quota. So $1800 trs quota. If you are claiming as an individual. They will likely ask you if you are bringing it back. If you are not then it wont matter if you go over the quota.

  • Now I need to await the Xbox One deals that I missed. Just found out that my nephew wants one for his birthday.

  • Back to $519 now looks like the deal is over.

  • +1

JB hi-fi price matched to $369 as target are still advertised for $369 if anyone is still chasing a PS4 pro.
