    Takeaway not available

There's an easy way to get you to pay more

    • +9

Sounds to me they're about to change their business name soon…

  • +4

    Locations needed in Title.
    Only seems Sydney & Brisbane
    [Now added]

    Shouldn't price be $399 ($101 more to pay by 10 X $50 payments)
    [Now updated]

And how long is the Rockpool / Fratelli Fresh lifetime? Could die at any time like many food businesses.
    [One of life's mysteries😉]

    • Brisbane? or is it maroochydore

      • +2

        Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore.

Many stores have been closing in the Sunshine Coast over the past three years.

100% worth considering if you lived in Sydney and enjoyed pasta.

Literally $7 lunch per day even if you went for the payment plan.

Not worthwhile unless you're willing to take a gander and live nearby on the Coast

Edit: I called in; only valid for Maroochydore, QLD at the moment.

      • FF Site showed limited locations such as Eagle St Pier Brisbane. Google shows it open.
Did not show Maroochydore when I posted.

Looking up via locations on their site shows Maroochydore.

        • +1

The one at Eagle St Pier is Fratelli Famous and this is Fratelli Fresh. As OP said, only in Maroochydore for QLD :(

          • @DarkWeb: Thanks for that. Confusing. I've only eaten at stores in Sydney.

            • @INFIDEL: And then there is a store in Cremorne called Fratelli which is not related…

  • +13

Seeing how many restaurants chains got into trouble last year and closed down… seems like a money grab to keep them afloat…

    • +1

      except its only 100K

      • Passes are $399. So under $80K.
Was 1 month for $200 in past Deals.

Of course they may issue more than 200 to get more funds. The limited number creates demand.

    CARBS GALORE U'll get fat

      = shortened 'lifetime'

      • +1

Indeed, nothing good can come from this.

    • +4

or you could choose a salad

  • +5

This would make for a great Simpsons episode…

    • is it all you can eat?

      • +1

All you can eat of that one allowed meal per day

  • Limited to one meal (pizza, pasta or salad) per day

This is a dealbreaker for me. It's only good if you are going to the restaurant and dining in by yourself essentially. Considering can usually get 50% Fratelli Fresh in some locations on thefork.com.au most days of the week.

    • +1

I hope its a dealbreaker for many people cause i want to buy this

  • With an average cost of $30 a plate, you'd recoup the outlay of $400 in about two weeks eating daily.

    • +1

Buy who pays full price there?
      I haven't.

  • Similar to the Olive Garden offer in the USA….

    https://www.marketwatch.com/story/olive-garden-is-selling-a-…

    • In the 2019 Pass someone asked why didn't they offer a 1 year Pass like Olive Grove… (not limited to 1 dish per day)
Now Olive Grove have upped their Pass to lifetime.

  • +1

Happy hour pizza only $6, last time I went it extends to weekend too.

  • +1

I'm so jealous, wish there was one near me.

    EDIT:

I live/work 1 hour from the city but I will bite anyway.

If I go to the city let's say 10 times a year to eat, I could make this worth it within a decade.

If the restaurant is still there in 30 years that'd be a great deal.

    • If you have so much faith, buy their shares and stay healthy by not eating their food

      • Well you can't generally buy shares in private equity easily. FYI Quadrant own them as well as several other chains.

I am guessing they are readying it for sale.

  • I know this is a little off-topic given this an individual offer, but what the heck is this:

10% discretionary service charge applies to all groups of 10+

    • They add it to the bill anyway
You can ask to remove but most don’t and some even add more not noticing that it’s there anyway

  • +2

    "PIZZA, PASTA and SALADS*"

The unexplained "*" makes it a bit suss!

    • Yes, as you can only get ONE of those PER DAY.

  • For those concerned about the business closing down / not honouring this deal in say years to come. I would do a credit card chargeback if that happened.

Say I am 30 years old, expecting to live untl 80 years old.

I am expected 50 years worth of usage; say if this deal ends in 5 years.

I would expected 45/50 refunded to me ?

    Would you agree?

    • No. How many restaurants do you know that have lasted 50 years? Hell, even 30 years? Rockpool didnt even last 30. And this is a chain restaurant, which is even worse. Looking at the comments above, you can get 50% off "most days". Not to mention they have their member specials too. Successful resturants don't do this.

Personally, this sounds like a tactic to get customers in their door. See how the pass says one meal only? Theyre probably banking on people not wanting to eat alone either.

This is all pretty sad, I was a big fan when they only had one restaurant in walsh bay (and it was called cafe sopra). I still think about the oxtail risotto winter special I had there. They never brought it back :( last time I went to a fratelli fresh was over a year ago and it was terrible.

      • One word, McDonalds

        • Bravo, you named one in hundreds of thousands. Even if you named ten you would still be making my point.

    • +1

No, credit card refunds don't work that way.

You can't get a refund from the credit card company 5 years after the event (even assuming you still held that same credit card).

It's usually only up to about 3 months after you buy that you can request a refund.

      • Ok but I will disagree about the 3 months part, as I have had success on charging back the cost of an airline ticket (where the airline went bankrupt) 10 months after payment.

  • +4

An interesting article about American Airlines unlimited flying ticket
    https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/sep/19/america…

    • +2

Only the first few paragraphs are of worth. The rest is a biography.

    • I read the whole article, if this pastaport ends up being taken away from me and crushing my life spirit I'm gonna be pissed.

  • Does anyone know whether their restaurants require booking? Perhaps the catch is that they're always packed and you can only get in a handful of times per year.

    • There is no catch, thats what Terms and Conditions are. The 'catch' is it will be hard to get this before it sells out

  • Damn, can't buy it off someone if I don't get it.

  • Takeaway not available? Tell 'em they're dreaming.

    • +1

      No, they're scheming.
Hoping the demand for these passes will generate lots of free publicity & paid patronage far in excess of the loses associated with the passes.

  • Sounds interesting!

  • +3

    whole site has crashed

    • Yep, when will companies learn!

      • do you reckon theyll just have to do it again at a later date?

        • Either that or just keep refreshing. It might come back on anytime next few hours.

  • What a joke…

  • +2

I'm getting to the site, but no link yet…

  • Not happy……their website not working~ :(

    • OK website working but there is no link~ WTF

  • +2

What I suspect is that they haven't even been able to make the changes to the site to make it "live" since the site went down well before 9am. FAIL

  • lol there is no link anywhere!!

    Here you go -

    • Any tips? its just spinning here

      • Surprisingly managed to get it on my phone, once on payment page it took 2-3 minutes to load fully. Good luck guys, what a painful process

      • Just keep trying… it just gave me the red ! at the top after putting my card in, just kept hitting "Place Order" and it eventually got through.

  • Woohoo just got 2!

  • Just got charged by my bank. But the website won't load to give confirmation. Let's hope haha.

  • Yay so happy, that was really painful but just kept at it! phew! Now for Ozbargain meetup!!!

  • Thank you. Your order has been received.

  • Woohoo Just got one… any tip is just keep trying…. if you get it in your cart and the site crashes then you dont need to go back to step 1 just reload from the cart.

  • Anyone got a confirmation email? Only got a pending charge so far.

    • +1

Yes I did, well from Frantelli:

Just to let you know — we've received your order #20XXX, and it is now being processed:

      • Cheers. It was in spam.

    • Yes, I did as well. It actually came through quicker than the confirmed order page did!

  • Looks like they're all out of stock now - congrats to those who got it, hopefully they end up worth it!

  • I got charged but no confirmation…

  • Not happy…..never work for me and now I have miss out :(

  • anyone else paranoid theyre going to get an email later saying they over sold and your pastaport was past 200 so theyre going to give you a refund like HelloFresh always does?

    • Nope. Check their fb page

      "Hey guys!

The deal somehow made it's way onto OzBargain.

We ended up with 80,000 people on our site at 8:30am and there were only 200 available.

Our servers weren't prepared for this, and we're deeply sorry for this.

      Great learning for our team!

Rest assured the 200 did sell out and it's not a scam.
We've been so impressed by the demand for this campaign that it's now in review though. We might to another limited release! We might do it again in a few months! We might come up with EVEN BETTER deals!"

      • +1

        80,000? i have my doubts….

        • +1

probably counting each refresh as a new visitor lol

  • +1

I just emailed them as I ordered 2 in a single order, they asked for the second persons details and said I will get a temporary card via email later today, and can pick up my actual physical card from my nominated store at some point in the future.

    • Perfect, I was wondering when they would issue cards, im ready to go tonight hahah

  • +2

Just received an email with my temporary pass until I pick up the physical. Winner!

    • i havent, wonder why taking so long… was it personalised or look like a mass email?

      • It is a mass email with your name.

    • Got my pass as well.

    • Have you been yet? I went tonight and was very happy with the service, meal, and not hassled to buy anything else :)

      • +1

Same, I went yesterday for lunch - really great, fast service. They jokingly said they had a bar seat reserved as they expect to see me every day - and yes, not pushed to buy anything.

        • +1

Id love to have a personal seat!

      • +1

I went for lunch yesterday and going back today.
Got asked a few times if I wanted to buy a drink though.
        Otherwise they were super friendly.
I'm terrified they'll start to recognise me though!

Also tip, I was told zoodles and gluten free pizza's are part of the deal!

        • YES! I saw those and was happy to pay the extra but I’ll ask tonight :)

      • Do people show their pass when they enter or when they leave? When you leave do you ask for the bill if there's table service?
