  • Is the NZXT H510 good?

    • +1

Yes very good cases (3 in the family 210 510 and 710) gamer nexus has reviews so head over to youturd n have a look :) just be aware that the front is not mesh has some air intake between the front panel and the side panel which seems to work, but yeh would make a big difference if the front was mesh in terms of cooling.

    • I have one of those - it's a clean looking case however, it feels a little flimsy given it's price.
I also have a Fractal Design Define C (TG) which I got for not much more than the H510 and it feels much more well built, not to mention quieter. Can't comment on temperatures as each machine is running a different cooling solution and components but neither have had cooling issues.

      • I watched Gamer Nexus review but i am concerned with the negative pressure. With the temperatures going on these days, isnt there a chance that it could fry my components?

@Kelvin H. Fractal Design Define C does look good. Is the stock version good enough?

        • Yeah, the normal version is fine. I'd recommend to read/watch a few reviews to compare them all but I reckon the Define C is a solid choice.

Nice case but nothing "mini" about it!

    • Yeah it's pretty obese.

Annoying how all the mainstream ITX cases are far too big.

      • +1

True, but this case still has its place if you want larger air coolers and/or radiators and the included fans make the value pretty good. I recently did a build with the Lian Li TU150 which is just a little smaller than this. I would have liked more compact, but all the proper compact ITX cases are so expensive and hard to get in Australia.

        • I just want to give a shoutout to Silverstone for making the MLO8 (https://www.umart.com.au/Silverstone-Mini-ITX-ML08B-H_34870G…)

It's been the perfect case for years. I've done some slight modifications to make it really be able to run hot but if you want a genuine portable mini-ITX case it's the one to go with.

I will be doing another build next year that wil just sit in a room and I'm considering a NZXT case as they're just aesthetically pleasing but I'll keep my main mini-ITX build in the Silverstone case for ease of use moving it around.

          • +1

@TheGoodPart: SG13 is also another not too huge ITX case that's easy to find. Or the SG05/06 which are pretty similar.

            • @Melthar: Nice I'll check them out for sure. Still undecided what I'm going to use for my second PC.

    • -3

I think you might need to learn how to read, you clearly missed the fact that the specification for the size of the motherboard is LITERALLY commonly called a 'Mini-itx'

      • +3

Relax mate! Just saying that it's quite large for a mini-itx case.

I built my PC with a Silverstone RVZ02 and that's less than half the size of this…

        • It’s still a good case. It really depends what you intend to use it for. For custom builds it’s great but there are some really well prebuilt designs available that are real small.

I was able to fit Corsair 650w power supply, 1 x ssd (but room for 3), 1 m2 drive, 1 3.5” drive, 280mm aio radiator and fans, gtx1070. Highly unlikely that I would be able to fit these same components into something smaller.

    What's the regular price?

    • $160-175 + postage

      • I meant what is the regular price at PCCG? Or is this the regular price? (In which case it isn't a bargain).

        • Even if it was the 'regular price at PCCG' it's still a bargain compared to average market! I would of snatched this up if I didn't already pay for my H210

      • -1

No it’s not. Even PC Case Gear say in the description

        On sale! (normally $135)

        • -1

Yes… it is… if you take AVERAGE MARKET PRICE into account and NOT PC Case Gear's 'usual' price. PCCG was already a bargain, this one is just sweeter.

          • -1

@kronicmacstigator: The regular price is $135 at PCCG.

That’s just you trying to pad out the price to make it seem like a better deal than it is.

            • @Nousernamehere: Uh… you asked for REGULAR PRICE!

If you had any knowledge you WOULD REALISE NZXT are 'clearing' stock of the H200 series for the H210. The ONLY alleged differences is a USB port on top of the case is now a type-C and the way the glass screws onto the side of the case. THAT'S IT!

Regular price of the H210i (which is pretty equivalent) https://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=nzxt+h210i…

This case is on a race to the bottom when it comes to pricing to clear the stock!

              • -1

                @kronicmacstigator:

Uh… you asked for REGULAR PRICE!

Uh.. where did I ask for the regular price?

Regular price is $135 from PCCG, deal with it. As for the rest of your rant, I really couldn’t care less.

                • @Nousernamehere: It's still $16 cheaper… DEAL WITH IT! As for you, I couldn't care less.

                  • @kronicmacstigator: You really fail at basic comprehension don’t you?

I never said it wasn’t a deal, I just pointed out their regular pricing is $135, which is what Speedster asked.

Claiming the regular price is “$160-175 + postage” is the equivalent of someone posting a deal and claiming the savings against RRP.

If only Mini ITX motherboards werent $200000000

    • +2

You can get a MSI B450i for $190, which is pretty standard pricing? I just popped this into a Node 304.

  • I currently have this case with a 8700K/1080Ti Mini…… It gets way too hot even with ample cooling so now I just run it without the glass side attached.

    • Well… that's kind of a given how much power you've got. That being said, it is one of the better flowing ITX cases apparently

      • +1

airflow for the GPU is pretty bad because the shroud is so close and doesnt let the GPU breath unless you have a SFX PSU and place a case fan under the shroud to pull air from under the case. i own the h210.

        • I've heard 'either or' with this. Any luck with a case fan at the front? I imagine it'd slightly increase the airflow past the graphics card? Unfortunately in most ITX cases you'll have this issue anyway

  • +1

Use this case with RTX 2060 and a 9600k. Looks great, decent cooling when you have a few extra fans in there, but definitely not that small.

    • I've got a Mini ITX setup too, 2060 and 9600k. But i'm running a Thermaltake Core v1, very compact :)

    charging shipping in 2020… yikes

  • How does this compare against a Phanteks P400s with Tempered glass?

Huge fan of powerful small form factor builds.

Haven't read up though since last generation where it was Dan cases and some other popular ones with Zotac 1080 Ti Mini's.

With news that the next gpu iteration is going to blow Turing gpus aka the current 2080 Ti series out of the water I am very excited to see what Nvidia might bring to the table this year.

A sff beast machine is a literal dream.

For all those going 'But $135 is regular price, not $160 or so'… SHUT UP!

Guess what losers? Page now shows clearly 'This product has been discontinued'.

So it was a clearance price! Then cleared even more… no regular about it. Otherwise it would of gone back to $135. Guess what, no stock and never will get any again!

  • +1

I have this case, great case. Easy to build in for m-itx.
Just note the RGB controller only works with gen 1 of the nzxt aer fans and RGB strips, and they're hard to find now.

    • No possibility of slipping in the later model controller out of the H210i and utilising the existing wiring? Although that would kind of defeat the point and add so much added cost a person might as well just get the 210i :) But a good point to know!
