I got one of these specifically the plus version to test. Its an average camera at best nothing to write home about.

Objects are not that clear past a few meters.

IR kicks in earlier (ie brighter conditions).

Local access is somewhat limited by the firmware.

Need to register a cloud account to get full use out of it.
Has questionable security access, access it given by predetermined password on a sticker on the base.

Does not integrate as well into home assistant compared to its parent(hikvision) cameras.

  • I have the 1080P version, only bought a week ago. People are selling them on FB marketplace as they come with a laptop?
Anyway was able to access the camera using RTSP. So my blue iris was able to record directly from its feed.
iVMS-4200 allowed me to configure settings inside the camera that the app would not allow me. I was able to change the FPS etc, disable the EZVIZ watermark on the top left.

I already have a hik-connect account and was able to connect this camera directly. Hik-Connect and EZVIZ are the same. I can use the EZVIZ app or the Hikvision app. I wouldn't purchase the 720P model.. I'd look for a deal on the 1080P considering this doesn't include free shipping.
