And the webpage says "For kids not collectors." !

    • +1

      From the site's FAQ:

Q: What does ‘for kids not collector’s mean’?
A: Collectors generally want their boxes to be ‘Mint’ flawless without any sort of dents, crease, shelf wear or any kind of imperfection. That can be quite unrealistic and that’s why we label our products unsuitable for collectors. If buying for someone who is going to open the box to build it’ll be fine.

      • Box damaged?

      • Oh, thanks. Given the price, I'd say "For BIG kids".

Buy the Lepin one for $300, 99% the same

        Then resell it for $1.50

@WhiteEvo6: No need to call LEGO owners names. If you can’t afford it , fine buy your Chinese blocks champ.

          • @WhiteEvo6: I hope you liked having your homework copied and sent to detention because of plagiarism.

          • +5

            @WhiteEvo6:

            99% the same

            No, it isn't.

only anal retentive LEGO builders have an issue with Lepin,

Do you also post comments on watch deals recommending people buy fake Omegas from Thailand instead and suggest people download movies from TPB on Blu-Ray deals?

No, because you're another confused Lepin hypocrite, who for some bizarre reason believes supporting blatant IP theft is perfectly okay if the price differential between the genuine product and the fake is big enough.

whilst I understand the issue with copying LEGO brand it’s hard for LEGO to justify its prices for even new un retired kits are overpriced,

It's really not. It's called licensing costs and Lego doesn't have much of a say in it.

takes away from the enjoyment we had as kids

LOL. "But you're honour, think of the nostalgia!"

That tired old argument has been thoroughly debunked.

Lego is today the cheapest is has ever been on a price-per-brick basis.

@WhiteEvo6: Enjoy the negs, my friend.

Every single Lego deal for a flagship, expensive set has to feature at least one of you imbeciles with your tired old, retarded drivel: "b-b-buh, I just don't think it's worth that much money, so I guess I'll support a sweatshop empire instead that even the Chinese state ruled in court was blatantly stealing Lego's designs and had their factories raided by the Chinese police. That's so much more ethical than Capitalism, I can't believe more people don't think this way."

8 of these as high yield investment?

Same set for 879 at shopforme

    • +1

Yeah, unfortunately been sold out every time I've looked :( . I saw it there for $750 ish at one point too, watched the price change 3 times.

    • +2

Not really that relevant if it's not in stock

      • -1

hmm it was in stock when I mentioned it (checked before I commented).

  • It’s cheaper at ShopForMe and PurpleTurtleToys as per above comments.
OP even admits it’s not the cheapest the item has been, so it’s hardly a deal worthy of a post: “Not the cheapest deal I've seen for this“.

  • So much grey

  • -4

OP just for those without a clue OzB is for bargain deals not crappy deals !

You probably missed the little clue in the domain name .

    • +2

RRP is $1099.99, is it not a deal nevertheless?

    • +1

So far in this thread I've seen an out of stock page linked and another for $5 cheaper than OP. Care to explain how it's a crappy deal? You seem to be hung up on the fact that they rightly mentioned it's not the historically lowest price - as is the norm to mention around here.

  • should i invest in this or bitcoin?

    • +1

depends if you can afford to loose the money or not. Worst case with buying Lego as an investment is that you still have the set to build yourself.
