Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows (Incl Receiver) - $37.99 W/ Free Shipping

520

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to play games on PC as well as Xbox 360.

Been looking for one of these at a decent price for a while. Hard to find sometimes. EB games sell for $79.91. Cheapest on staticice is $53 + delivery. This is cheaper than eBay buy it now listings and at least this way you know it's genuine.

Good for those PC games where you just long to use a controller or you've bought the game because it's much cheaper on PC than console but you still want the "console experience". I bought it so I can play games from the lounge with my laptop hooked up to the TV. Ordered it 8pm last Friday and received it early this morning (Friday) so only took a week from the UK.

You can get Xbox 360 wireless controllers a bit cheaper on their own but they don't include the wireless receiver that you use to wirelessly connect the controller to your pc. Genuine Windows Xbox 360 wireless receivers are hard to find on their own and buying controller and receiver separately would generally cost more than this deal. If you already have Xbox 360 wireless controller/s then you may just want to buy the receiver by itself elsewhere but at this price the extra controller is probably worth it.

Connectivity Technology: Wireless.
Pointing Device / Manipulator: Thumb stick, triggers.

System Requirements: Microsoft Windows XP SP1 or later.

EDIT: Yes it does include the Wireless Receiver that you plug into the USB port on your PC to wirelessly connect the controller. I ordered and received it myself before posting and can confirm. The controller takes 2 AA batteries (included).

I might be blind, but where does it say that the receiver is included?

    • +1

It doesn't, but OP orderded it last week and received it today, so I assume he confirmed it is included before posting.

      • -1

        we dont need "assumption".
we need OP to CONFIRM it.

    • i was thinking same thing…. where's the receiver?
the way the bargain is posted gives the impression that this controller will work with pc and xbox just on its own, which isnt the case.

      • If you buy this as it is it will work because it includes the receiver ;-)

The receiver is mentioned in the bargain title and a couple of times in the description. The "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows" is how you find the product with the receiver when searching or asking in stores. I completely understand any potential confusion as I had the same thoughts myself and it is only because I have been looking on and off the last few months that I knew what to look for (and even then waited until I received the product before posting so I didn't accidentally mislead anyone on here).

It is included. I didn't post the bargain when I ordered it because I wanted to make sure the receiver was included. I made the assumption before purchase based on the fact it said "controller for windows" (which is what the controller is called when it's sold like this) and that it listed system requirements as Windows XP SP1 or later (which would be a bit silly unless there was something to plug into windows in the first place).

thanks for clarifying OP. link doesnt mention anything about IR reciever being included. plus vote on both counts then, definitely a bargain!

The Controller for Windows has to include the receiver, thats the only way that a wireless controller can be used with a PC.

  • Is this one of new controllers with the revised d-pad?

    • Nope.

      • Bummer, I was going to buy the other deal at ozgameshop for the new style controller with the play and charge kit, but I'd rather have a wireless receiver than a play and charge kit. I prefer to use rechargeable Eneloop AAs anyway

    • what is the revised d-pad. Can those new controller be added to the old xbox360 60 gbs

      • Twisty D-pad, it pops out of the circle. Was updated with the slim version of the 360.

        • From what I have read, the transforming D-pad (twisty one) controller is not the same as the one that ships with the slim version? (I don't own a 360 so I can only guess from what I read). The transforming D-pad one only comes available separately with an included play and charge kit and in silver?

The one that I received appears to be the new style controller that ships with the slims. It is different to the one pictured on the site (it doesn't have grey d-pad/joysticks). It has a black d-pad and joysticks, the Guide button is silver, the controller has a matte finish except for the "front" around the headset port that is glossy black (to match the slims).

        • Possibly. I might have flubbed regarding the slim 360, but the controller did come out at the same time. The most obvious difference with this controller are the face buttons being shades of grey rather than yellow, blue etc. Which this controller doesn't seem to be.

        • but will I be able to run it on my old xbox 360?

  • Is there battery for it or you would need to get one your own?

    • It comes with two AA batteries in the box. I am using the Sanyo AA Eneloops I got from one of the JungleJumble deals.

  • Does it come with the grey d-pad/joysticks or black? The corresponding one on Amazon is black but on the Ozgameshop site it's pictured grey. I'm pretty sure the black one is a better d-pad than the one that came with the original 360 controllers (and is the only reason I'd consider dropping some cash on this).

It's black d-pad/joysticks. Copyright notice on the box says 2010 if that helps :-)

      • Thank you! Ordered and +ed where I could :)

  • just ordered one. great price!

    • +1

Great price but no + vote? Must have been too busy ordering :-D

  • Can I use it on ps3?

  • This works very well on a pc and is auto mapped for a lot of popular games. I paid $59 for mine from centrecom about a month ago and it was white… i really wanted black :( oh well.

  • Wish I'd seen this yesterday - site says out of stock when I visited just now.

    • They had been out of stock before I ordered myself so they've probably just been caught unawares. I put in my email address to get notified when it was back in stock and it was back in stock pretty quick. Maybe leave your email address?

      • Bugger. It says out of stock again but hopefully they will get more soon…

        • Now says back in stock!

It annoys me when people say free shipping. It's not free, just included in the price…

    • +1

It annoys me more when people give a price, and then I find out there's a shipping fee to pay on top of it.

EVERY product at your corner store / supermarket will have shipping "included" in the shelf price. The products have to come from somewhere!
