    • whats a good platinum psu?? is there a chart still leaking around??

      • +1

When I did my research about a year ago, it was the Seasonic focus plus platinum I think. Can't imagine a lot has changed since then.

I had the Seasonic Snow Silent. Which is platinum but wouldn't recommend it. Even though Seasonic are probably the most reliable and also make parts for other manufacturers. First one sparked and then wouldn't power anything on, replacement did exactly the same thing. Went with the Corsair RM850X which is so quiet and only seen the fan spin a handful of times even under heavy 4K encoding (most strenuous job for a CPU) Corsair is only rated at Gold level but its a great performer!

    • 80 Plus Platinum has not been the highest rating since 2012. Look for 80 Plus Titanium.

  • Showing $248 for me

Must have been updated. It was $164.59 when I purchased it.

      • nice catch.

I'm after RM850x also, been watching the black version since I missed it for $170 back in November.
Didn't think to watch the white version :(

        • the white version has braided but unsleeved cables I believe. I find that a deal breaker, because a single cable might have 12-24 separate braided cables. You can make it look neat but it will require dozens of cable combs and a lot of work. If you don't do it, it will look really messy and ugly.

          I would prefer the black.

          • @lostn: Thx for the info.

Probably wouldn't worry me to much but would prefer the black just to keep it simple. No doubt the unsleeved cables would start bugging me after a few months.

            • @gilmour: I might be incorrect about the unsleeved cables. I think that is the limited edition white only. The standard white might have the same cables, just in white colour (no braiding).
