    Got one of these the other day (the $499). Its well made and I don't have any problems with the speakers. The display is bright and crisp and great for the price, couldn't bring myself to get anything less than FHD. For what it is this is a great little chromebook. I will replace my windows laptop with this. Have everything synced via google drive. I must say it is very snappy and out on the road the folder I have as available offline (re downloaded and saved to memory) opens most of what I use in very quick time. The only thing missing is HDMI out but have ordered a USB C adaptor for cheaps off ebay. But most places I visit have casting so got one just in case. Battery is very good and I love the instant on - no waiting. Don't use it as a tablet although it will be handy whilst travelling.
