How good will it be for outdoor apartment balcony?

    • +3

I guess you could fit 2 people on it.

  • -3

Probably same mediocre quality like here

    $73.95 delivered for 100L extra.

Decent deal but that 'usual' price is ludicrous

everything RRP is ridiculous but retail bosses are claiming the discount culture are hurting them

      • Australian retail is discount culture. Unless they have their heads buried in the sand I thought everybody knew.

      • +1

The RRP is set by the manufacturers though.

can you sit on it? looks like the kogan one

      • +3

According to Bunnings "Can hold up to 220Kg on lid" so two ppl ok or 1 fat person :)

        • +2

I have a couple of the Bunnings’ Keter ones- okay, but not brilliant. I would not use as a seat. The one in OP’s post seems to have some additional reinforcement, but 150lb limit is pretty small!

          • @T-Quizzle: Agree, the Bunnings (Keter) ones are pretty flimsy. Broke the corner of the lid and one of the hinges from adults sitting on them.

            • +1

@3: I picked up an Aldi Keter (the 570L one) and it's very solid and the lid is rated to 200kg (though perhaps not on the edge).

It was a fair bit more expensive than the Bunnings one sadly.. but I was pretty impressed with how solid it was.

I kept expecting bits to break when assembling and it turned out to be a lot tougher than I realised..

I have this one and I wouldn't put anything heavier than 10kg on the top. It is fairly flimsy.

    • +2

I have this, would not recommend - the "hinge" is just the plastic on the top lid clipping into the base. It unclips every second time we open it and is a real pain to clip back in

    • +1

I've bought one of those. The lid hinges are laughably flimsy. Break just by be8ng looked at.

    Myer’s product line confuses me.

    • +4

It's not Myer, it's Myer market place. Third party seller.

  • +3

Is it really from MYER if it’s sold by a 3rd party on their ‘marketplace’ would put me off as it’s not a true MYER product

  • +1

It's only 96cm wide. Photos obviously photoshopped.

    • -1

Photo looks about right, the guy sitting on top looks about right if that's a metre wide.

      • Definitely PS. Unless the guy is 100cm tall. The box is only 50cm high

  • Looks like the ALDI one on clearance in some stores at the moment

    • The aldi clearance one is much better. My local store has it for $150. It is the Keter Denali 150 us gal which is almost 600L. Keter is also a reputable brand and it is most likely made in the USA.

      • +1

Keter are made in Israel I think.

        • +1

My bad, Lifetime is the made in USA one. Keter is pretty commonly seen in the US though so kind of got confused.

          • @truetypezk: They look really similar. I have a lifetime shed and a keter storage box.

            • +1

@King Steuart: Yeah I have the exact same combo. Pretty happy with both. Lifetime AU also has a pretty awesome customer service. Their guys "hand delivered" some missing panels to my doorstep next-day.

I find them look pretty similar as well, did a search but seems there was no link. Also very similar price point. I would definitely recommend them over generic no-name ones.

      • Yes, its still available in some ALDIs. I got one for $104. Enough storage.

  • Thanks Got one!!! Bought another item for free postage and used gift cards for payment

is it heavy or able to be bolted down, good as a chest for deliveries?

  • +3

    Ozbargained

  • Now out of stock on the website

  • Lol at RRP. Guys these are the same ones you can get from eBay at that price normally anyways. Just search 290 outdoor storage box.

    • Had Myer gift cards free as bday gift

  • I spent too long looking for other things to buy.

Ended up with $120 of things ordered but not this lol because it ran out of stock.

Would these stand being left outdoors in torrential rain? Or would they fill up like a bucket?

    • Was about to post this. I saw one set up the other day and thought it looked decent because I'm looking for something similar for the front porch, quickly realised I was wrong, a flimsy plastic piece of junk.

      • Is that exactly the same as the Myer one?

        • Different shade of plastic, although that could be due to the camera. But more damning is the different hinges. Reject shop hinges look cheaper.

      • Advise anyone if you find a strong sturdy waterproof one as being the main criteria thanks .

        • I have one from ALDI and it's out in the weather. After the rain we have had over the weekend in Brisbane. Inside is bone dry.

Is it safe to store seasonal cloths? and leave the box outdoor (in sunlight)

  • Hmmm just received mine. Ordered two but only got 1
