    Good price!

I thought it was for the xl, was a decent price for it but not the regular 3.

For a regular user the only thing I dislike is the battery life. Otherwise it is a very good phone, and for $529 it is a great price.

        • -1

As a regular user, battery life is of significant importance. Perhaps regular users don't care about batter life?

  • So the 3 is now cheaper than the 3a?
When will we see a good deal on the 3a?

    • +2

They should come down once the 5a is released.

Do you mean the 4a? It gets the number of the 2019 flagship not the 2020 one.

        • Whoosh….Through to the keeper on that one!

          • @XCelR8: Well, if the joke was that the phone will come down in over 2 years from now, it was quite poor lol.

  • If the rumoured 4a design is correct it's gonna look pretty slick, but I bought a 128GB Pixel 3 a few months ago and I love it. The quality of the ultra-wide selfie camera is pretty poor though, I can see why they ditched it on the 4.

    • Quality of the ultra wide selfie is excellent for me actually. But I have not compared it with other flagship devices.

Luckily I'm in the healthy weight range and do not require the ultra wide selfie camera.

Yep no need when you have no friends in the picture.

    • What’s the battery life like? I almost bought one of these as a second phone, but looking at reviews I think I might be better off getting the iPhone 11 and just use dual SIM. The 11 is meant to be a lot faster and much better battery life.

Battery life is very dependent on the type of person/user you are, and the type of battery time you except from a device. I've never really understood most battery complaints on most devices. I've seen it many times, a phone will come out with a 2800mah battery and reviews complain that its too small, only to review another phone a few months later which might have a 3400mah battery but again they say they're disappointed in the battery size. I don't think any device will ever have enough battery life for those who value it's importance so high.

Maybe I'll be singing a different tune in a year or two, but I'm sure I'll survive. And in 2 years I'll be eyeing off the latest phones for a possible upgrade anyway.

I'd say if you really care about battery get an iPhone 11 Pro. The company's claim of an additional 5+ hours on top of last years phone is pretty much never heard of in the smart phone world. Beyond that, maybe a phablet phone like the Galaxy Note.

Oh and yes, since iPhone X, Apple has been killing it with their own chips. The iPhone 11 is no exception.

There is no comparison between an iphone 11 and the Pixel 3 in terms of battery life. I switched from a Pixel 3 to an iPhone 11 Pro and my wife has an iPhone 11. Her phone gets even better battery life than mine, and I'm getting twice the Screen-On-Time that I did on my Pixel 3 (~7-8 hours vs ~3.5-4 hours) while being able to go 3 times as long between charges (36 hours vs 12). I would have to charge my phone by 5pm if I wanted it to last past 8-9pm before hitting 1%.

Even with minimal use, like say 1.5-2 hours, my pixel would be 20% by 6pm (from taking off charger at 7am). Bad standby and even worse in-use battery life.

Before you buy this, make sure you're comfortable with what people are saying about the battery because this will probably be you, too. Save yourself some bother (if this might affect you).

Battery discussion seems to start from this comment.

    • I am using pixel 3 for over a week now and battery never been an issue yet, though I am not a heavy user. One thing I can tell is the battery is not draining when not in use, I have 136 apps installed all together. Maybe software update fixed the issue? This is the first time I switched from Samsung to any other device, I still prefer Samsung over this one but battery is not the reason.

  • I bought it but the price is $579…

    • you needed "eBay Plus" to get the $529 price using code PUNNET at checkout, you should have purchased the membership & then the phone least you would have paid $579 & had a year membership for the same price, if it comes back in stock worth buying the membership & then the phone again, then take back your first purchase
