Was looking at buying these watches and found a cheap lot on amazon compared to DJ and their website

They are $279 from the website. I haven't done a huge amount of research but it looks like they retail between $200-$300

I think they look pretty good. Under a hundy for a decent watch seems like a good deal.

They have different bands which i think is what the names bristol, st maws etc refer to.

I think these are cheap because the D is printed backwards. Might turn out to be a collector's item

lol. yeah there is mixed opinions on the brand. They seem OK for under a hundy though in my book

That's how their logo is meant to look. Sheesh

      • whoops

I'd almost guarantee these are fake. Brand new seller with no feedback, selling popular items at well below market

Tbh a real DW is crap anyway so it doesn't make much difference.

These are cheap quartz watches and you're paying more for the marketing and brand than the quality of the timepiece on your wrist.

    • What's so bad about these watches? Does it fall apart quickly or something?

Mechanical watches are less accurate than non mechanical watches yet are more highly appreciated for what seems like the difficulty of making it (and some other features like waterproof rating etc).

      • The price mark-up is what is bad.

        • Ah, but if mechanical watches, the labour of making it is what makes it expensive (no other benefit except people who appreciate the craftsmanship and labour I presume), I don't want to pay for that either lol.

    • These are all part of "fashion watches". Which isn't really that bad if all you're after is something which tells the time and looks nice, without being some horological piece of art.

Literally everything from any fashion brand (eg Armani, Hugo Boss, D&G, etc) are all in the same category.

If you want an actual good Chinese-made watch for under $100, go with Pagani Design

      best website for Pagani Design?

      • +1

ali express has an official pagani design shop front. look into just one more watch youtube channel for more info - he buys a lot of stuff off ali for review and says exactly where/who from and his experiences with the purchase and the watch.

These look pretty nice. Why, why must 'homage' brands always be so huge though, a 43mm Submariner is just stupid.

  • +2

Unfortunately they're cheap for a reason, with little to no innovation. Everything put into marketing and lining the founders pockets.
Easily faked watches, they're all over aliexpress and dhgate for $10, impossible to tell the difference because of the simple design.

Please skip this nasty cheap watch. You are better off getting a Casio quartz for $20. Do yourself a favor and get other Japanese brands like Citizen, Seiko, Pulsar, Lorus etc. Looks and feels way much better.

It's sad that I get more compliments from my $5 fake DW watch more than my Orient watch.

    • Only horology enthusiasts will appreciate Orient watches. They're so good value for what they are.

Why bother with Daniel Wellington - at least George & Evans will look and sound more impressive

(Strewth - I just looked at the listing - wow they did follow the script :) )

DW are just rebadged generic AliExpress watches, they are really not worth the money even at $50…

    Case in point:

I can confirm the quality of these watches are rubbish. Not worth $5 imho.
