  • Specs are pretty decent. Anyone owns one?

I had one but returned it as it had a dead pixel and am now waiting for the replacement to come.
Great monitor especially considering the price, panel was excellent (minus the 1 pixel haha).

    • Got one when it was first released, its been an awesome monitor and well worth this price and easily worth more.

      Hey mate

      Any comment on this one:

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AOC-U2790VQ-27in-4K-UHD-IPS-Fram…

With the same Coupon code PARRY, it can be had for $365 (+$50 giftcard), so effectively for $315.

My basic requirement is a 27inch monitor for home use with a good sharp display and colours. I am not into gaming etc so won't need higher refresh rates etc.

Can you recommend one? I am not in a rush so happy to wait for a good deal.

AOC is 4K @ 60hz. Apples to oranges. Personally I'm waiting for this to go on sale for <$350 again: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/27-Samsung-LC27JG54QQEXXY-2K-WQH…. Curved, but freesync.

It's a great budget 4k. The Philips version is well reviewed and the AOC uses the exact same panel.

Keep in mind that high refresh rate still has a place for productivity if you're scrolling through a lot of information regularly (eg. speed reading), and this is the same price range as 1440p 144Hz monitors, which offer great pixel density at 27".

      • This looks like a great deal. I have been waiting for a good 27" to 32" option and this AOC could be it. Any other thoughts on this as a general office use monitor? I don't game so the refresh rate isn't a big deal for me.

If you lock your refresh to 120hz, and use advanced timing.

Or lock it to 144hz and use 'very fast' timing, its golden.

To use adaptive refresh of any sort is a little hit and miss in pixel response.

    Otherwise good.

  • Wonder if this would be good for office/CAD use.

    • The 1440p resolution would be great, but you're paying a premium for that 144Hz and we hardly need that extra refresh rate for office use :)

  • Dang, wish I hadn't bought just the 2k monitor back in September.

I don't understand why you buy this when you could buy this 20$ cheaper?

  • Damn very tempting for a second monitor.

  • Damnit! I bought mine for $449 when Umart had stock! Tempted to get a second.

Good monitor for the price point

    • Just ordered one.

While the pixel response isn't perfect, the black uniformity sold me.

IPS with almost zero glow?! yes please!

  • Any cheaper 27inch QHD monitors around? Already bought the Acer Nitro XV272UP last month. Just need a cheapy second QHD one.

  • Usb-C connectivity?
Worthwhile to get to use with macbook pro?

    • +1

Nope, but you can use a USB C to DP/HDMI to get display signal, won't charge it though.

If you're using it on a MBP though I'm guessing you won't be high refresh gaming in which case you can get something similar with a lower refresh rate for cheaper.

  • This or LG 34" ultra wide (1080p) Aldi sale in Feb?

  • Not sure if anyone pulled the trigger on this or is still reading this thread but mine shipped today. I was advised by customer support it would arrive mid to late feb but the tracking says tomorrow. Hopefully If you bought one and yours hasn’t shipped it comes soon.

  • Mine was shipped yesterday and arrived on the day. Much earlier than the estimated time displayed on ebay (25/2)

  • ship to malaysia?lol

  • God DAMN it, I've been waiting for a deal for this monitor since it was announced so I could pick it up, and I only go and miss an amazing deal :'(
