  • any reviews of the tv?

  • Here is a link to the review on ozbargain of our old 22 inch model

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/30170

As this is a new item that has just arrived we do not have any reviews of this model at this stage

You bastard! My poor CC! 8(

What's the sound like on this sucker? Is it worth using the in-builts without extra speakers when used in a bedroom?

  • I could be missing something but when I go to enter the voucher (ozb3578)its coming up with "Error: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached it's usage limit!"

    • +1

I have just checked and increased, the demand for the units has been huge and sold faster than we first anticipated

      Everything should be fine now

      • Thanks..Just bought one.

        • Already posted with a Aus post tracking number. 45mins from purchase to dispatch.. What took you so long!

  • +1

All of our new models have upgraded speakers with dynamic sound and decent bass levels for the size of the unit.

This is one of the main new features in the new models.

The built ins are great for regular viewing in a bedroom.

    • Hey. Thanks for that. One more question. Is the screen glossy or matte?

      • +1

The screen is a matte finish to reduce glare and reflections on the panel whilst watching the unit

  • Just ordered one, hoping for the best! :)

  • looks good - ordered one too

  • Isn't the Luminance / Brightness of 300 cd / m2 on the 24" a little low?

    • My current LCD is 300 and it's ok… at a brightness of 90 and contrast of 50. When it's dark, it's -dark- though. Lots of detail lost. Not sure if that's a function of brightness of my LCD (not LED) sucking. :)

      • +1

300cd is actually very bright. In dark or bright scenes the unit performs well. We have sold over 2000 of the units so far with no issues with brightness of the panel.

  • Is there USB inputs with this?

Or how does PVR work? :S

EDIT: nvm, found specs. theres one USB port for recording and playback.

    New question:

What USB devices can it support? And what media files can it play?

    • +1

The USB supports hard drives and flash drives for storage.

The unit can play mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg3, mpeg4, Divx, Xvid, avi, mkv, .264 and most standard media formats for movies, the unit also plays standard sound mp3, wma etc and picture files jpeg gif bmp etc.

Once a USB is inserted you can either program recordings from the EPG or simply press record whilst watching a program.

  • Can the Rep confirm if this unit works on 12v DC as well as 240AC.
The specs don't say what voltage only current drawn.
I note that there is an accessory 12v car cig lighter adapter offered as "related product"

    • The 24" model will run on 12 volt.

Great for use in caravans or those on off grid power that need to keep power consumption down.

The 12 volt cigarette lighter adapter has been made specifically for the 19, 22 and 24 inch LED and LCD models that we carry

  • Just ordered one with the 12v car adapter for the camper….Don't forget to hit "APPLY" to get the discount, I missed it.
Very helpful customer service, thanks Ben. He says they are selling heaps. Just hope they are a good tv.

  • Has anyone received this yet?

If so, how is the quality?

    • +1

Received mine today and I must admit to being pleasantly surprised.
      First impressions
      * Build quality seems to be solid
      * Intuitive GUI, didn't have to pick up the manual once to configure
      * Sensitive digital tuner with no issues with any channels
      * USB supports NTFS and happily powered my WD usb powered external drive
      * plays MKV but didn't play audio on 1 movie so it may not handle all the digital audio codecs
      * Audio is pretty good considering the size.
      * Website said 2 hdmi inputs but unit only has 1
      * Unit has a 6 star rating and not the website stated 5
      * Happy with the screen viewing angle especially vertical
      * Intro "Vision" screen a little tacky on power on
      * Media (USB) GUI easy to navigate through and actually looks good.
In short I think this TV is excellent value and looks good mounted on my wall

      • I asked in an email, and they said there are definitely 2 HDMI ports.

        • Double checked and there is only one physical port and GUI only references a single "HDMI" input, the manual "for VS22/24LEDDVDp2" also shows just the one. I wonder if there are more than one model revision out there. I was disappointed when I saw there was only one after seeing 2 in the post but figured I could live with it.

Rep could you clear this up, its important to some people?

Just talked to Ben at Vision and it seems only the 26" has the 2 hdmi ports the 22" has 1. They are now aware of the error in the web specifications and was nice enough to send out a complementary HDMI pack. As I said I'm happy with only the one but some may not be.

        • Sorry, meant to reference the 24" not the 22" but the specs are the same.

        • It looks as if there was an error on the specification documents we were using as advised.

The spec has now been updated, Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

        • I'm also very disappointed that it only has 1 hdmi, really needed the 2…

rstephenson, what was the complimentary hdmi pack you received?

VisionDigital REP: Does everyone who ordered before the spec's on the website were corrected get one of these hdmi pack's ?

        • If anyone has experienced issues with spec docs please email us at [email protected] with your order details

  • Sad panda. No TV. :(

    • What do you mean? :S

      • I was rather hoping that, having ordered it ~3 days ago, it'd manage to make it to me by today.

According to the tracking it took it 1 day to travel from one post office to another which is leading me to wonder if the TV will take longer to get to me in-city than a few HDs took to get to me from NY.

        Bad AustPost. Bad.

        • Which state are you from? I ordered too, and am hoping it will arrive soon ><

  • Received the TV the other day and got it all plugged in and set up.

It looks quite decent, not fugly like the old-school Chimei panels.
Picture quality is good on HD, but colours are a bit washed out at 480/576.
Sound is a bit flat, though you can't expect much from the tiny speakers on these TV. Volume is plenty loud though, can hear it quite clearly from 5M away at only ~20.
Tuner is hopeless at analogue signals, with "snow" showing on every channel. But on digital it's excellent (no idea why you'd go for analogue when there's digital anyway).
DVDs are a bit slow to load, but no problems whatsoever once it's started to play.

All in all, EXCELLENT value at $239. Very happy with the purchase!

    • We have included the analogue tuner in the unit for country areas and such that cannot pick up the digital channels at this stage.

The digital TV roll out still does not reach some areas around the country so the unit can cover all bases depending on your location

  • Ordered one earlier this afternoon, dispatched at 4pm, nice….

    • Received the next morning, not bad for regional NSW shipping.

Already hanging on the wall, quality is pretty good. Happy customer.

  • received mine yesterday - pretty good picture and UI, however the sound is not the best, but what can you expect from a TV for $240 with PVR and DVD. All in all this is a good deal and have to say that I am happy with this TV. Cheers to the OP for bringing it to my attention - thanks mate

    • I agree, picture quality and user interface are great for the price, but I found the sound seriously lacking in the mid-range/bass department. No worries though, as it's hooked up to my panny htib. Overall an excellent purchase for the bedroom at the price.

  • Received my TV a couple of days ago. finally got around to setting it up and I am very impressed at quality and performance from such a unit. Great value and good customer service…..Thanks Vision Digital & OzBargain

  • Can it play rmvb files?

  • Got mine 2nd day after ordering and very happy with it. There is an error in the manual. The DVD must be inserted with the label facing the BACK. I thought the DVD drive was broken until I tried it the other way.

    • So true! I, too, thought it was broken until I called them up and they told me I had to place it facing the back ><"

  • Hey rep :)

Just thought about buying one of these. One little issue on the site, unless I am reading the page wrong, the title is for the 24 inch… All the description is for the 22 inch :)

    • +1

Yeah they need to edit that, but the other specs hold for the 24" also and the energy star rating is actually 6.

  • can anyone recommend a usb that will be able to keep up with HD PVR? I have 2 sandisk USB's and they are struggling with the write speed for HD.
