  • Good deal on the KJ Classic II
Excellent bbq for someone who wants the versatility of a Kamado

    • Love my Kamado. Cook on it a couple of times a week and have done all sorts of amazing food.
      Picanha on the joetisserie tonight!

  • I won't shop with you anymore, I went to my local to buy the smoker I posted as a deal. First he tried to charge me $320 for a hark gas smoker (boxing day time) and once I said "they are like $240 online" the owner got rude and charged me 240exact not 239.20 like your website stated.

I wasn't going to not buy the smoker I wanted over 80 cents but very very very poor CS experience. Owner was just Going to knock $10 off his floor price and scam me.

Been buying my chips from Bunnings.

      What scam is that?

      • +2

Charging more than their advertised price is a scam in my books?

        • -3

They are not honouring an advertised price. That's not a scam. It's not acceptable behaviour but it isn't a scam.

If they told you it's going to be $240 and charged you $320 without your knowledge then it is a scam.

One has to commit fraud for it to qualify as a scam.

(Just community service to reduce the improper use of the term "scam")

@[Deactivated]: Lol ok you win :). Seemed all good when I walked in, girl served and gave me a run down on using it then she passed me over to owner who was like my best price is this. Hence my questioning about online price.

            Also why isn't op replying?

@Slippery Fish: Maybe he is grilling the franchise owner.

              • @[Deactivated]: I didn't name the franchise yet though lol.

@Slippery Fish: He pulled his resources, checkout all sales records recently and correlated the branch that sold said item for $240.

                  OZBCIS

                  • @[Deactivated]: That would be pretty amazing service if he had rofl.

                    • @Slippery Fish: Let's assume it is and he is feels the adrenaline surge of solving a hot case that he is willing to do a Kamado III and the price above, just for me.

          • @[Deactivated]: We're not lawyers nor judges so it's a scam in our eyes anyway.

            • @lgacb08: It may be a "scam" in your eyes, it is a chicken noodle soup to me.

Sadly, it is neither and I'm still hungry.

                • @Slippery Fish: Not sure why you're kicking off over 0.80 cents. The franchisee does not have the price automatically changed like the companmy stores do with sales and promotions.

If you really want you to save money you could have bought the exact same unit without glass from aldi, also made by Hark for $199 as a 'special buy, as seen in the comments of your own post.

                  • @choumada: Lol yes but that's an October special…

Also the complaint is that their franchisee are dishonest.

    • Must admit i had some pretty trash service at the cannington store in WA. Pushy, really hard on the upsell. Wasn't lying, but presented information in creative ways.

Went to the chaps in Morley and had a rep as nice as pie. Perfectly happy with the cheaper model I wanted to buy.

These are franchised, so some are better than others. I'm still happy to be buying my consumables from the Morley store.

  • If you're on the fence with a kamado, and the price tag of these ceramics puts you off, the kamado dragon (I paid $399) is a really solid option.

Mine keeps a very constant temp for easily 8 hours with a fairly basic coal layout (think crescent shape around a central brick). As an entry level or trial option, would easily recommend the dragon. The whole bottom pops off too so the ash is super simple to remove.

  • Bought some amazing lamb ribs from a street eats stall tonight - noticed they were using a Komodo

  • Love my KJ-II but total fire bans can ruin your plans. Good price. I'd recommend buying the outdoor cover at some point.
