[VIC] Panasonic GZ1000U 65" OLED $2699.98 @ Costco Ringwood (Membership Required)

920

Saw this tele this morning at Costco Ringwood. Wife stopped me from buying it but she can't stop you (I hope).

Sharp deal on this Panasonic 65' OLED. Not the cheapest post but cheapest Ive found at a bricks and mortar store.

The GZ1000 range are packed with features including both HDR formats: Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ as well as Dolby Atmos, etc. These televisions are renowned for their image processing hardware with the best colour accuracy and image out of the box

First post so pardon formatting

      Wow, so many downvotes.
Looks like the minister of finance came out in droves today.

Ive never had an issue with Panasonic tv's still got a plasma going strong after near 10 years.

I’ve been waiting for my 2011 VT30 to die and it’s still going strong, I’m a Panasonic fan, also have a 14 year old panasonic lcd in my sons bedroom

      • +5

just launch a brick at it, that should do it

        • Hahaha

        • and claim insurance on it

I still have the Panasonic vt20 it's a great tv it had the blackest blacks for its time. I should have bought the Samsung my father in laws broke and got replaced 3 times by Samsung. Eventually they stopped making plasmas and and gave him a series 7 60inch lcd. Considering he started with a 50inch plasma he did pretty well.

        • My friend bought the Samsung at the same time for a similar price and had it repaired 4 or 5 times they then replaced it with a Sony about 4 years ago (jb extended warranty)

      • My Panasonic plasma doesn't die either. Not gonna throw it out. Might end up in the bedroom at some stage if I can't resist buying a new one.

Nothing beats their plasma.. Mine was still working until I replaced it with the previous OLED model. It would be prefect if they had a better UI … tv menus and settings being segregated to the smart tv OS is not the best and they are definitely behind lg, Sony and Sammy in that area.. other than that this is an amazing price I paid over 3k for mine … no regrets though :)

May I recommend that you buy a cheap Android TV device with a built-in TV tuner. I use my Panasonic plasma as a "Dumb plasma panel" with all the smarts being provided by Vodafone TV. I have 3x Vodafone TV boxes and couldn't be happier. It's the best of both worlds!

        • Yeh I used to run Android TV box on my plasma, still having it on the TV is more convenient for the kids and wife and I think if I buy one more gadget I'd have to move out…. Lol

@scud70: WAF (Wife Approval Factor) for the 1st PoC device (Proof Of Concept) was a green light to buy more ATV boxes. As long as you have a business case with WAF, you can get away with any gadget without moving out. 😁

Same here! I’d like a larger display but have held off for years only because my Japanese made Panny 50” V10 is still going strong and I’m still impressed with the natural looking skin tones and excellent handling of sport.

Don’t want to get rid of it. Might have to move it to bedroom wall - must keep it!

Same here. My 55" TH-P54S10A is just coming up on 10 years now. Made in Japan, 2010.

      Those Plasmas are tanks.

    • That's my problem, I wish it broke after 5 years.

    • Was also on the same boat but I finally caved in and bought C9 on the GGs deal. Now to offload the 50st50 someway… goodbye my darling, u were beautiful (in picture).

    • My 65FZ950U has developed a stuck pixel, contacted Panasonic about a fix, been a week since my initial contact with them and they haven't got back to me.

Regardless, still really like the TV, it's picture image is A+.

Solid price and great commentary OP "Wife stopped me from buying it but she can't stop you (I hope)" :p

It's the GZ2000 you want not the 1000.

Better off with a C9 OlED than this and you'll save $300

    • +9

$2300 for a $65 inch C9? Post the deal plz?

      • +1

I tried ages ago and was advised price matching isn't a deal. The deal was then removed by mods.

  • "Panasonic GZ1000U…"

hmmmm is it a new Panasonic camera?

    "…65" OLED"

    nvm

  • I have the previous years FZ950.

The set is absolutely stunning when watching HDR content on Netflix

Only small points I would make is (like most oleds) can be reflective and the scaling from as sources such as many Foxtel channels isn’t the best

Would not hesitate to purchase again though and a big leap from the old top of the Line VT60 Plasma it replaces

  • Slightly cheaper now at Video Pro with code PREPARE: $2,587.50 + delivery
