Some nice options in the first two baskets, but awful pricing for a deal.

Why? If the first item is worth roughly $280, you're getting 2 bonus items (worth $50-$80) for $8? Obviously it's only worth it if you need the $280 item, but the same is true of any $280 deal haha.

      • Because none of those items are worth that. No combinations of the first two presents true value for money.

        • The Radeon RX 5500 XT is retailing for over $300 everywhere else…? Haven't looked at the other items, to be fair.

@themadman: It's a 4GB 5500XT, which goes on sale for $250, and I've already responded to another of your comments about value.

Navi is a straight avoid right now for anything other than pure rasterisation performance.

@jasswolf: Fair enough. I was simply looking at the price compared to other retailers, but if you're talking about what they're worth in value, I can't really comment on any of these haha.

  • By far the weirdest deal I've seen, but if you were after a 6tb Surveillance drive and cheap 250gb SSD then..

So you're negging because you can't be bothered hunting for the bargains? Doesn't seem a fair reason to neg.

@themadman: Wow, an interesting take on the facts. This is not a bargain. It's that simple.

Can I just point out that this.

WD Blue 250gb SATA SSD for $49 is an alright price?

Roughly same price a year ago

    • Seems okay but you gotta buy two other things that aren't bargains.

      • +1

Why can't you just buy it like you buy anything else online?

      • You can buy this individually for $49. The 500GB version is $80 if you need the extra storage.

      • You can just buy it like anything else. It's not a package price.
I was just pointing out that this seems to be the only alright priced item in the "deal".

Seems like a good deal if you're after the RX 5500, which is currently selling for > $300 most places I could see (from a quick search). Good price, plus 2 bonus freebies. What's not to like?

    • The RX 5500 XT is basically an RX 580 with primitive shaders. As to how useful that is, we won't know until the end of March.

I just don't rate the value for people when in 6-9 months, there's going to be cards from $200 up that support both that and hardware ray-tracing.

      • Yeah, I can't really comment on whether it's worth the investment tbh. Haven't really been following recent GPU trends.

I think this deals REALLY good as long as you have need of at least two of the items… :) assuming you buy an AMD 5500XT 4GB graphics card… it comes with FREE shipping so that alone makes it one of the cheapest AMD RX5500XT 4GB card online once you include delivery charges seeing delivery here is included.

    Awesome deal right there!

    • If you don't specifically need the RX 5500XT 4GB it's not a deal, as you can get an RX 580 4GB for $199. If you do need it, yeah it's a deal. ~$370 RRP total for $288

Unless you try to take advantage of the deal and sell them. Could net $50 e.g 5500XT + SSD + RGB lighting. Sell for $340 total. But I doubt it would be worth time and effort and could take a while to sell.

Pretty much only a deal if you need one of A or B or both.

  • for most bang for buck is to get
    Category A:
Gigabyte Radeon RX 5500 XT worth $279

    Category B:
Logitech Harmony 650 Remote Control worth $59
    or
Cooler Master MasterAir MA610P worth $59
    or
    Netgear GS105PE 5 worth $59

    Category C:
    Crucial 4GB 2400MHz DDR4 Laptop Memory worth $38

totaling $376 for $288 lol XD

    • The most bang for buck meaning the highest prices, not necessarily the best prices :)

These "trifecta" deals from SE used to be good deals, but haven't seen a good one for years.

  • I think it is their way of clearing out stuff that isn't selling.
