  Why is the top of the Coke vanilla cans a sort of off-white/cream colour? Isn't vanilla brown?

    To differentiate it from other Coke varieties.
    The colour matches a vanilla flower and our association with vanilla ice cream.

      We don't eat vanilla flowers, though. We eat the extract of vanilla, which is brown. So the top of the cans should be brown colour, not white.

      To give you an analogy: the strawberry flower is white, not red. Would it make sense to make strawberry ice-cream white? No, because we don't eat the flower, we eat the fruit, which is red.

        If it helps you sleep, Coca-Cola with Coffee has a brown band at the top so this is to diffrentiate it from that.
