Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 - Taylor Swift Edition $88 (WAS $199) C&C/In-Store @ Harvey Norman

650

Awesome price for this camera!
I've never posted before, but I stumbled upon this gem of a bargain and it felt wrong not to share it.

The Instax SQ6 retails for ~$199 and prices go down to ~$149 at best so this is a bargain if there ever was one.

Added bonus if you actually like Taylor Swift.

If for a novelty, better to invest in the instax minis camera instead. The square film is a lot more expensive, but you can get away with under $1 for minis.

  • +7

It's about $1.50 a shot for square film.

Still better than Polaroids - $3.50 A shot!

Square is, personally, way better than mini rectangles. Different strokes.

    Valentines Day gift sorted.

Imma let you finish, but instax mini 9 is the best instant camera of all time.

    • +1

Do you have experience with both this and the Instax Mini 9?

    • +1

      Brilliant comment

      • would've been more brilliant-er if merited

        • As merited as the original

  • Hi
Does anyone know if it comes with the film as well or just the camera alone?
    Thank you

Someone posted this link to Kiipix on Amazon last time an Instax deal was posted, seems like a pretty decent cheap alternative to these cameras.

Seems way better being able to take photos on your phone, then printing the pictures you actually want printed.

    • +1

Kiipix is pretty good if a bit fiddly.

This one however prints on the Instax square format which is larger.

    • +1

Its the experience of taking a photo and having a photo come out instantly - something not involving phones and digital cameras. Great for holidays, and giving photos to strangers. We have used it to ask someone to take a photo of us and in return we took a photo of them and gave them an instant keepsake. If your outcome is to have reliable pics printed out, the kiipix is probably the better option since you can choose the photo

As someone else mentioned though, different strokes for different folks.

      • Or get a Mini link and have the best of both worlds

  • Two cr2 batteries = expensive replacements

Remember to hold the photos carefully while they're developing, but if by chance you do drop it and it gets dirty, don't worry, 'cause you can…

SHAKE IT OFF, SHAKE IT OFF!

I heard if you expose to film to daylight you will only get a BLANK SPACE.

YOu can create your own love story with this

            • @funnysht: Oh, Look what you made me do! What a waste of Fifteen seconds. You need to Calm down.

              • @Shark: well i thought you were ready for it but i hope there's no bad blood b/w ME! and you

      Well that's what people say…..

      but is it true?

    • +2

Shake it like a Polaroid picture. Lend me some sugar.

Okay, do it how you do it, go on and walk it out

Walk, walk, walk, now walk it out

Lol…you were waiting for this moment weren't you…😂

  • my 4Yo daughter has the SQ20 and I love that it can save the digital shots to microSD
That film is expensive though so we only put it in for special occasions (digital still works)

for anyone looking the cheapest instax square film I found recently was for the 50 packs via MightyApe or amazon (if you have prime)

    • Why on earth was I downvoted for recommending where you can get film for the listed camera from ?

    • I love that it can save the digital shots to microSD

you can!? but does it take film or paper?

      • Instax square instant developing film/paper same as the item listed by OP . I'mm not sure what to call it but it develops instantly

Nice find, thanks for posting. Bought this as a gift a few months ago - now to claim back the price difference through my credit card.

Brownie points for taylor swift gear. Cheers op

  • I'm surprised anyone would pay $200 for such a camera given how expensive the film is ($58 for 40 = $1.45 each @ HN) even as a novelty.

If you have a kid that already has a camera (or mobile phone which most seem to have these days) and need a photo printer that won't dry out like an inkjet if unused, a Selphy printer might be a better investment. Canon paper + ink pack costs $44 for 108 4x6" (41.5 cents each).

    • +4

Value really depends on what you're intending on using the camera for. For things like your description, use cheaper means like Selphy printer or even 10c prints from Snapfish. But for parties, those printers dont exactly bring the same excitement as instant prints. Been to a couple of small parties ie. baby shower and engagement, and these are a nice cheap alternative to $$ photo booths.

    • +2

The main point is instant pics.

      • If you take the photo with a phone and immediately print via Selphy is that considered "instant pics"?

  • -7

    "Taylor Swift Edition"

    "Woke white liberal girl edition"

Will it take progressive non-binary pics?

  • +2

Looked nice until I realised that it has Taylor Swift's name all over it. Great price tho!

  • -6

why do people still use these?

  • +1

Thx! Bought three, save them for the gift. It is really worth since it is nearly 1/3 of regular price. Though sq file much more expensive than the mini ones I still prefer that 1:1

  • i'm not the person can take good shot first shot, so i guess is not for me

  • -1

    Hum, thx OB, bought 6…

  • If I on-sell this is it going to write a song about me?

  • I’m getting a “sorry we’re down for maintenance” when trying to pay

  • I wonder if I’m a double Polaroid.

  • what i don't understand about the square is that the film is smaller than the wide, yet the film is more expensive?
