These better than the edifier deals?

    • +1

These are Pro-Audio equipment, and those familiar with setting them up properly may prefer these over Edifier’s of similar price.

That being said additional components must be purchased in order for these JBL’s to have the same features of the Edifier’s (Bluetooth / Tone controls / remote control etc).

      • I have these for home DJ use. They are excellent: very loud but clear with solid punchy bass. They are easily loud enough for a small house party.

I often see them compared to Edifers on Ozbargain however, I don't believe they are intended to be just a bookshelf speaker and are not comparable to Edifers (and I have never seen Edifer in a DJ or music equipment store, but I may just have never noticed).

Also worth noting that you need cables to connect them to your mixer - either TRS or XLR.

        Hope that helps someone!

          Thanks for sharing.

I simply recommend Edifier’s on ozbargain since they are a complete all-in-one package which is easy to use.
And Studio-monitors since they are designed for specific near-field use are simply Pro-Audio equipment.

When I see a comparison between the two (a question asking which is better) I conclude the user would be better off with the Edifier’s for their consumer friendly design.

What's the point of listing single speaker price? Would have thought these speakers always bought in pairs, unless someone wants to try one as a centre (doubtful) for a home theatre setup.

    • +1

They are listed as single-unit, so if you need a pair - you need 2 items before clicking “add to cart”.
It is this way for Pro-Audio, sometimes there are “pair’s” for sale on other websites, but there is also usually a listing for single-unit available for purchase.

    • Because that's how pro audio gears are sold - not all set up in the professional audio field) requires stereo. The speakers are also designed to function independently.

    • If its studio gear, listing single speakers makes it easier to replace a single faulty speaker.

    • It's still pretty rare, but there are applications in pro audio where people either want a dedicated speaker to check the mix in mono (believe it or not this is a pretty important thing, even today), or to mix in 5.0 surround.

  • No probs .. Thanks for the explanations.

  • Wow, that store - so much awesome stuff… Going to spend hours browsing!

  • Any idea on how long this deal will last?
