One day Ebay will have a search function for the specific eligible items… but it is not this day

Permanently put off by this eBay s**t of offering discounts only on eligible items.

  • Why do they do "eligible items" .

Ebay takes more than 5% in practically all listing fees, and again in selling fees.

This company would be able to do a genuine 'site wide' without operating a loss lead.

    Boggles the mind

Maybe because they want profit, like most businesses

      • +1

Yes, thank you for repeating what i already covered.

"This company would be able to do a genuine 'site wide' without operating a loss lead"

Maybe they want MORE profit, but don't want to stimulate their sales with loss lead

          • +1

@dangerdanger: Yes, but then we'd need their sales figures to argue any further.

Lets say they make 15% normally.

Do these sales stimulate enough that you get more selling in bulk at 10% profit?

Or is it worth losing the appeal of the 'neg' crowd, and getting 15% from a smaller audience?

My logic says the former, but without numbers, its purely guesswork.

            • +5

@MasterScythe: You know who DOES have their sales figures and have people more qualified than you or I to figure out which is more profitable?

    • +1

10% what is this a sale for ants? 46% sitewide or bust

      • +2

I giggled at this and I don't giggle at anything.

I agree with everything you just said. It's literally a chore going through eBay listings with all the variant listings, these crappy eligible items promo codes, item location misrepresentations useless eBay Plus and a website that looks like from late 90s early 00s.

I don't mind paying a little more on Amazon for certain items. The last 50 transactions I have made are almost exclusively from Amazon and fulfilled by Amazon for peace of mind.

Op like other deals, may you can list some actual bargains?

    • +1

We're all still looking for an actual item that is eligible!

  • eBay Plus.
    5% discount.
    Eligible items.
    What a bloody joke.

  • Just went through the items in my Watch List. Guess how many are "eligible items"?

  • I think this falls under the No Bargain Listed category.

As a regular eBay user, i feel that i have been played.

  • It says it’s expired so they must have pulled the pin.
