Any examples? Otherwise it looks like an advertisement.

Thanks Neil - I will add a few examples above of the more popular routes.

      • A bit slow in adding these examples…maybe there aren't any bargains that's why your having trouble

I would just take down your post before the majority of ozbargain relates bestflights to not so best flight no bargain.

        • I would say that while this sale is on we have the cheapest possible international flights in the country, with any airline and any route, apart for the Low Cost Carriers and travelling in any class, even if you go direct to the airlines.
I just made 5 random searches and compared with 4 of the most visited travel sites and Best Flights were the cheapest by anything from $20-$65 each time, per person. Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Etihad and British Airways to London. We don't spam, never had, never will.

        • +1

you did, i called ur call centre twice for previous promotion
one of them is this link http://www.bestflights.com.au/cheap-flights/phone-flights-de…
return flight to shanghai for $629,

          and this promotion
          http://www.bestflights.com.au/cheap-flights/phone-flights-de…
          Melb $499 and Sydney $639
Departures from Melbourne or via Melbourne permitted:

Departures from Sydney or via Sydney permitted:

5 minutes after i got your newsletter, i called your call centre, but ur consultant insist that i need to gave him/her a date, i told her/him that i am flexible and i can take fly any time as long i can get that price, promise called me back, yes she did called me back the next day and telling me nothing.

if this is genuine, post an example of the exact date that this fare is available. not just from now till certain date. which is waste of our time, in fact when i called your consultant just try to sell another airline or higher fare. which is bs. sorry but this is the fact.

one more, in 2009 u got fiji package sale, operator told me this date available, i booked my annual leave, call back 1 hr later, said nothing. wtf?????

hi bestflight, are u Dave ([email protected])? do u remember me? :)

        • HI Joannatan
Just to be clear on a couple of points here. Best Flights are a retail online agent. We are official sales agents for just about every airline in the world and every wholesaler in Australia.
When airlines or wholesalers launch deals, we quickly ensure there is minimum amount of availability of seats and/or hotel rooms with the supplier, then we quickly promote to as
many people on many databases as we can. We are renowned for being the first to market in the travel industry, its how we have built our company over the years and now sell nearly
$300 Million worth of flights and holidays. BUT, when airlines and wholesalers send us their product, it is impossible to ensure that there is availability on every single date for the date brackets they are promoting, we have no control over availability although we do discount their prices. We seem to be digressing a little here as the sale we are promoting is an online flight sale, and what we have said, is that we have discounted EVERY SINGLE international air fare in our booking engine (apart for LCC's) which makes our flights just about the cheapest you can find.
We do not guarantee any availability on any dates what so ever. To let you know, we have all ready had 40,000 Unique visitors to our site today and had over 300 bookings, around 540 passengers.
SO, we must be doing something right! I am now off for a bit of lunch.

        • hi bestflights,

if u read my below example for sq flight sydney to singapore, that is another prove your dodgy marketing, average price is $830, then you advertised for $809, then when we visit your website come up 940.
why other travel agent still able to offer below your marketing price, in this case only 807?
when people found 940, most of them called your call centre to verify, then your consultant try to upsell other airlines that cheaper than sq. that is wrong in the first place. i don't accuse u did this, but the fact telling us a different story. i have notice this many times. thats why i do not bother to call ur call centre anymore

why those people buy from you, coz most of them not aware other website and most of them also lazy to do comparison. mostly, they are not true ozbargainer like us in here that want the cheapest for everthing.

  • +4

yep, agreed, SPAM… looks like its just advertising a bargain site… that offer discount airfairs all the time.. nothing special.

will remove my neg if im proven wrong.

    • +1

      agreed.

    • agree just waste time to call their call centre, as their website price is not really competitive at all. they still charging booking fee, if you compare with zuji and expedia, they don't charge booking fee.

  • Seems like there is a bit of a discount - I was looking a bus class flights on Thai a few days ago and now its about $100 cheaper. Would still like to see some examples from the rep though.

  • I just tried a couple of flights I have been looking at, and they were no better than the airlines had them last night…

    • Me too and the prices were cheaper on the airline site.

      • Hi Green Possum, be interested to see what prices you found on the airlines sites cheaper? Let us see one, and we will give you a $100 travel voucher.

        • +1

Ok, show me what you can do with SYD-PVG-HKG-SYD by CX second half of October.

        • -2

Green Possum - what dates out and back were you looking at on the airline site as you suggested? Let me know then we will compare ""apples with apples"" - cheers

        • +1

I told you, second half of October, pick any day that's cheapest, midweek if you like. I'm not going to post exact dates on a public forum.

        • HI Greenpossum, you really do have to give me dates and if you are stopping off in Hong Kong in either directon. Give me your exact dates and price and let me have a look and totally willing to send you a $100 Travel voucher if your apple is cheaper than our apple, and obviously the seats are available. Cheers

        • +1

Ok, just picking some random dates in the second half of October, here's one itinerary from your site for which you quote $1274, and the times are not even what I want. CX's site gives me choices of various flights and is $1226 and up. What's the point of your site for this route if the airline's site can beat you? BTW it's not just you. My last trip Flight Centre couldn't beat the airline price. I decided there and then to buy tickets directly in future unless I had some odd routing only a travel agent could do.

        • ohh greenposum, how can be u not take this matter with flight centre? i love if they said can't price beat, thats mean free airfare for me hahahaa.

        • FC only matched the official fare minus $1, that was their idea of price beat. Why should I bother in future when I can do everything from home instead of talking to a rep.

        • you get $20 voucher as well mate, and if u can negotiate they will waive the cc fee as well. and if u join their newsletter, on ur birthday at 12noon they will send u $50 voucher as well.

        • Yeah I've still got the $20 voucher from last time. I don't know if it's worth 30 minutes of my time going to their office to use it this time. I don't need CC waiver, I'm not in any rewards program so I'm happy to pay by EFTPOS.

        • -1

Hi Greenpossum, sorry, but you say "times are not even what i want" which seems that CX restrict availability on certain flights via agents, or it would be showing in our engine.
Trouble is, it really is not comparing apples with apples, as we do not have any control over availability.

        • u don't have to come to their office, i always do via email or phone only. asked my consultant first, what is their price on certain date and email my consultant with the screen shot of other website that have cheaper price, and my consultant called me to get my details, you might asked if u can pay via bpay

        • +1

Well then sorry but you don't have the apples I want. Good luck and goodbye.

  • same price of the airlines + A service fee of $18.95 applies per booking+ Possible credit card fees may apply

  • Before any type of fees, is a 1.8% saving such a bargain on the comparison given? 6% on the other a little better. Maybe trivial. We will let the -/+ decide.

  • Ive always used best flights, prices are ok but difference is minimal

    • -1

      do u work there mate?

      • HI Joannatan, I can assure you that none of our staff post any comments under pseudonyms, not like many of our competitors obviously do, we do actually have many thousands of fans and repeat customers, 300,000 a year to be exact. (-:

    • ok, next time before you book your flight with them check first with these site below

      www.zuji.com.au
      www.expedia.com.au
      www.wego.com
      http://www.bestwaytravel.com.au/

check the price included any fee involve, such as booking fees or may be credit card fees then compare with your bestflight price, if come up something cheaper.

      • There is a quick way to compare all the sites, try www.airfaresflights.com.au we get hundreds of bookings via them even though they compare ALL sites, so once again we must be doing something right!

        • that website really not reliable as well, i just search syd - sin with flexible date, come up flight centre is the cheapest, and bf with the price $897 - MAS (MH), then when i click search, it come up the cheapest price is 1085 with jetstar
then when u try to proceed to book the flight got total price $1123.62

do you know how many of your customer know that zuji and expedia no booking fee and no credit card fee? and your company charge booking fee and credit card fee? if majority of youur customer got ozbargainer mob mentality, i don't believe you still got 300k customer a year.

Hi rdhupar, show me what the $300 SQ flight was and we will give you a $100 Travel Voucher. Cheers!

  • Is this a legitimate company though? Haven't heard of it.

    • Did a check of one overseas trip to Asia. Webjet is still cheaper by $20.

      • Hi Delfredo, can you let me know full details of that flight at Webjet, and let me compare apples with apples and if they are $20 cheaper total price, we will send you a $100 Travel Voucher. Cheers

    OzBargain, not OzSlightlyCheaperInSomeCases

    • i agree. In order to be consider as a bargain here, the price has to be cheaper than your competitors, this is not a ozslightly cheaper in some cases community. Rofl

  • Not to mention that the deals they usually have listed don't usually exist .

  • There is not a lot of discounting that a reseller of flights can do, so if these flights save a few dollars than that is better than nothing. It's not as if they can slash the fares when they don't provide the travel themselves.

  • Just did a search from Brisbane to Qingdao, departs 20 Jan 2012 and Back 4 Feb 2012. The price from the website is $1232 by CX
    the CX website is 1210….
    NOT cheap….

    • Hi Meatlover, we have just been trying to replicate the flights you have featured, and gives us choices of various flights, the only one showing available in the Cathay Pacific site is not showing available in our booking engine, so am unable to compare apples with apples.

      • dodgy answer, u have access to galileo system right? which is connected with the same reservation system that cx have. are u saying these seats that meatlover found has been reserved by cx exclusively, so only customer booked directly via cx website they can buy this seat?

        • Hi Joannatan, not really a dodgy answer, a factual one. We are not on Galileo, we are on Sabre. Even if we were on the same reservation system as CX they are able to restrict what flights they show to agents, and yes, airlines are world renowned for trying to sell seats directly to the public rather than via the agent. Airlines are Travel Agents competitors AND suppliers. Not sure why you seem so surprised to be honest.

        • i don't know if the airline can reserve certain seat for them selves, so far, when i did price beat with flight centre, they never said no to me. and flight centre quote always higher than i got from other travel agent.
disclaimer. i am not working with flight centre, i just happy with their service and never fail to give me price beat and waive me the cc fee.

  • This is a a spam.
I did a quick search with criteria departing sydney to Fuzhou china on 10th December 2011 , return date 10th January 2012. Guess what I found? With webjet , the lowest is 987 compare with bestflight"s price of 1447, a difference of $460. How do you explain this? Best flight?

    • Hi Xyshiau , with all due respect, I think you will find that Webjets price is in actual fact, a ONE WAY price and NOT return! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (-:

      • sorry for the mistake earlier, however ur still not the cheapest by price.
jetabroad.com.au has the same price as you, 1447, but they have paypal $25 cashback, which means they still beat your price by $25. any opinions ?

    • Hi Joannatan

HANDS UP!!! You got us!!!!!!!!!!!!! (-:
We can offer the same flight over the phone via the call centre, but the same Singapore Airlines deal has not been loaded into the Sabre reservations system. So even though we can beat the price with Zuji, at the moment we are not able to offer it live online, so by de-fault, you have got us!
So, we owe you a $100 travel voucher. How is it best we verify who you are and how to get it to you? Let us know.

Right, we now need to get on with some work, not sure what your line of work is, but I know I am going to get told off if I do not catch up with my work now!

P.S. We are not dodgy, and we do not subscribe to dodgy marketing.

      • +1

just keep that voucher for me mate, i will contact with you when i need it, i just take that as an example, i have no plan for flying in the next couple of month. thanks for honoring your word. i hope when i book the flight in the future, you won't increase the price :)

i work in the banking industry.

  • With directflights, I got a quote of 1416, which is again $31 cheaper than urs, given the same day, any comments?

  • Looking at Sydney to Tokyo on 23th Feb on the 10:30pm qantas flight. Tokyo to Sapporo on 25th Feb, Sapporo back to Sydney on 4th March.

Your site is saying $1944, Expedia is $1923.

  • Good site, used them before and had no hassles. Sadly still saw some flights cheaper on Zuji but majority i randomly looked up were cheaper on BF. Not enough for a positive or neg though. :)

    As an example:
    28Jan 2012 to 9Feb 2012 Perth-Denpasar-Perth

Best flights: $379(+ booking fee) with Garuda, $1111(+ booking fee) with Singapore Airlines.

Zuji: $378.95 with Gardua, $1108.42 with SA

BF did have a better price for Virgin Australia though.

    • +1

u missed two things, zuji no booking and no credit card fee. both fee can cost you around $50 for return flight with total fare $1k.

  • I think Best Flight has put their brand reputation on the line, making claims above and not making good on $100 travel voucher when proved otherwise. The representative simply left.

Whilst this may have been taken off the deals list, it will always remain in Google archive for all to read.

    • To be fair, it is a weekend. Even they are allowed them :P

      • Read his post at 2.28pm on Friday. That's when he left us. No other sales agents would tell their customers that they now 'have to get back to work' and dump them.

        • this post should be move to general forum so other member can read and share their experience and opinions, may be good for the company as well, at least they get the real feed back from their customer, what is wrong with them, if they want to improve their relationship with their customer or they want get more new customer base.

        • How do you move the entire thread?

        • Mod able to move this to forum discussion

  • Hi Bestflight,

I have no intention to pick a fight with you or debate in this forum. what i have wrote so far based on my own experience dealing with your company in 2009-2010, in three occasion, none of the advertised price available. I can understand your argument that you have been gave that information from the airlines. My question, why don't you asked the airlines what date exactly that promotion available?
As i mentioned earlier, I just feel that cheap ads only bait and switch marketing only, in three occasions, your consultant offer me higher booking class or other airlines that more expensive $100/person.
Yes you still get 300k sales this year, you have to remember, this is due to strong aud, do you get the same sales in 2008-2009? even my consultant at flight centre told me it was tough year for them.
Surely, there is something happen to get 300k customer, from mass member that join your newsletter and strong aud and still low unemployment in Australia, if all similar situation happen in usa (lower exchange rate, higher unemployment) apply in australia, i do not believe you still got 300k customer last year.

One of the example when I spoke with your manager about cheap fare to china in 2009, your manager told me that time that cheap fare all sold out, okay if sold out, why don't u take off that ads from your website? i can see that ads for many days after i spoke with him.

if we can take 100 people on the street or your prospect customer that call your call centre, and we told these 100 people to visit your competitor website as well (the four that i mentioned above, not the website that you mentioned "www.airfaresflights.com.au") and informed them when they make comparison please take account the other fee involved with your company (credit card and booking fees). If the percentage of these 100 people still buying with your company still above 50%, I will agree with you that your company price is the best. Then we can do proper comparison apple and apple.

Again this is only feedback, i hope you can improve your website by quick update of your web promotion, if the price is not available anymore, please take off from your website ASAP.

And you have to remember, it is your company responsibility to check the availability of the fares, it is not the customer responsibility to check what date that is available. Have you ever try book flight directly with jetstar website, they can show you the cheapest price daily for the whole month. I do believe with your sabre system you can retrieve the information what is the lowest class for certain airlines for the whole month as well. then you just need to check daily. or you just need to tell the airline, if all the seat sold out, please tell your company as well.
