Using this right now, has helped much more than I thought it would. Very long battery life and good for big handed people as well.

Only thing I found is you still tense slightly when gripping it which can flare up the parts you might be trying to rest in your arm.

    • would a good mouse pad help

      • No, removing your hand and re-placing it back on a mouse is one of the worst things you can do for your wrist/arm/hands, you can feel it when you reach for something you tense your entire hand. The simple answer for when using this mouse is just to practice. It's been getting better over time and this would be after using it for a month.

This mouse has allowed me to mouse all day at work and still game all night with a G Pro Wireless without any pain so it's been fantastic, it's definitely doing work.

    • Have you noticed any ghost clicks, or inadvertently clicking when you're resting ?

      • Maybe 2nd mouse button? But very infrequently, you use your thumb and 3rd and 4th fingers to grip it. The accidental clicks are usually from relaxing my hand more than from use.

I found depending on how hold you're arm, it could help or be worse than a normal mouse. I kinda regret getting this mouse. It's definitely bad for games though… for the record.

Yeah it's definitely not a gaming mouse. If you're getting pain while gaming you should be resting and stretching your hands following some guides. If you're just starting to get pain do this NOW. It's YOUR health, look after it and will allow you to keep gaming for longer into your life.

Also get the lightest mouse possible to reduce the amount of effort on your wrist, it's why I'm using the G Pro Wireless for gaming and this mouse for work.

        • Thanks for the reply. You've made me decide getting a dedicated gaming mouse is worth it. Can't afford to get carpal tunnel.

  • +2

I have carpal tunnel and bought this the other day. It's a great mouse. I was using a cheap Anker one previously and this is definitely better quality. It is your hand a much better angle.

Don't think it's going to help with my carpal tunnel, though. Need Surgery.

  • does this actually help with stress on the hand from long term use?

    • For me yes, but you'll have to test for you. You could get a cheap Anker mouse from AliExpress to see if vertical is right for you, or save your money and go all in now ;)

  • I bought this from OW a couple of weeks ago to replace a few different cheap vertical mice. I think it's quite good quality and comfortable, my only gripe is that the middle (scroll wheel) button is a bit stiff.

And it works fine on Linux (Manjaro) without any Logitech software.

The scroll wheel is stiff in the beginning. After a couple months it's gotten much smoother. No longer squeaks either.

I picked one up last month during the last price drop

I miss the infinite scroll thing on the mx master series (I used to use a gen 1 mx master)

Otherwise pretty happy with it - took a few days to get used to though

    • If you use Mac OS X, I recommend you an app “SmoothScroll Mac”. Try it or try app that are similar might help.

For people struggling to find stock at OW, HN are selling this mouse for $98 as well

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/logitech-mx-vertical-advance…

    • 99 bucks at JB. For those with the Suncorp discounts, even better deal!

Honestly HN is the last store I’d buy from given Gerry Harvey’s lobbying for the GST on low value imports

  • To counter RSI I learned to left hand mouse. With a full size (with numpad) keyboard, the right hand has further to reach which I felt adds strain. Changing to a Left hand vertical mouse was transformational and you can still switch back to right hand when tired (I have both L and R plugged in).

Sucks that someone stole your mouse :( maybe start taking this one home with you from work.

    • Yes will be doing that from now on. It's never happened to me during the 5 years that I've been at this company.

  • Bought one from JB HIFI a little over a week ago; after installing the Logitech Options software, the DPI button and the left click button became one! Everytime I left click on something, the DPI will change lol. Luckily they allowed me to return it in the end.

Comfort wise I'd say it's okay, but in my option I use more of my wrist since I've started using the mouse. Maybe I'm just holding it wrong (like Steve Jobs would say).

If I had to choose again I might give the MX Ergo (ball) a try instead.

I use the ball and really like it because I can use it anywhere to my comfort. Check MSY for price match/beat if its cheaper (occasionally)

Price has changed back to $129.
