  • i got this and then returned it. using jabra 65t and its way better

    • +5

I disagree although each persons fit is purely subjective. The Jabra 65t's hurt my ears after about 30 mins and due to the wedging into the ear canal, each step feels like a thud in my ears. The sound through the Jabras is great though. The Bose are incredibly comfortable with great sound, although the case for the Bose is huge!

      • +4

I also second this.. while bulkier, the Bose fits extremely well and sound quality is second to none.and I have the jabras, Bose, jaybirds, Sony xhms, qc35s.. etc

        • +5

Only thing thats bad about the Bose is that they make you look like Frankenstein…. with 2 bolts sticking out of your head.

        • +1

I would be keen to try the Jaybird Vistas though, few more things going for them in terms of USB-C charging, similar wing style fit and look a bit less like "Frankenstein" but more $$$

        • Yeah, I like them too, though I have nothing to compare to except for QCY T2 buds, which are smaller and much cheaper, but clearly not in the same league. No trouble with the Bose buds falling out either. Fit was a bit uncomfortable initially, but I got used to them after a few sessions and now barely notice them (though they can't survive a t-shirt being pulled over your head). Connection is pretty solid, and drop-outs rarely result in a complete loss of sound - just a weird thing where one bud drops out and then the other for a second (using iPhone).

Paying $80 for refurbs in the recent Bose stuff-up helped. $80 seems about right price to me for refurb, and personally I would not pay full price for them new. I'm wearing them a lot though, firstly because they beat the QCY's easily, and otherwise because it's been too hot for over-ears! QCY's are now reserved for listening in bed.

        • Also second this, bought the new Jabra 75T, also hurt my ears after about an hour of use…. Could never get 7.5 hours out of them either so I returned them. Have gone back to hardwired headphones again :)

  • +3

Fyi it's huge and sticks out. Calls only works 1 side only

  • +2

Terrible audio sync (lag) when watching video. Fine for audio only.

Maybe be worth waiting for the Bose 500's, although I'm sure they'll be at least 2x the price.

    • No issues for me, but brother had that issue and swapped them for another pair.

  • +3

I agree with all of the above. Plus they are uncomfortable/painful when used for long periods (anything over an hour).

    • YMMV? I guess ears are all different. I did find them uncomfortable initially, and tried the small tips but had to go back to medium when they wouldn't stay in. I did get used to them and can now wear them pretty much until the battery runs out without any discomfort.

  • +1

I returned too because I cannot use one earpiece at a time.

    • This is worth noting. Listening to one at a time (while the other is charging) is very handy when listening to podcasts and the like. Can keep you going all day. I used to do this all the time with my little QCY buds.

I gather this is down to the way the buds talk to each other (with the left not capable of pairing directly to a phone)? Not sure. If not, then surely they could solve with a firmware change?

  • +1

I returned mine from $79 deal. Looks like a cone coming out of ears. Call and music quality was top notch though.

    • +1

$79? should have sold them to me!

  • I returned mine even when they were $80, prefer the form and function of the Galaxy Buds I have been using although the Bose sounded marginally better. Those buttons are really annoying to try and press when you're running.

    • Yes…the buttons suck.

  • +1

With this and the Qantas special on headphones, are there any relatively widely agreed upon earpods? So many mixed opinions on the Jabra 65/75, the jaybirds, these etc… most only getting 4ish stars out of 5 on Amazon. Audio lag watching video seems to be a widespread problem, as well as general quality control.

Or is the variation from person to person and use case too much.

  • Good sound but okay call quality.
Its huge as said in earlier comments.
I am using it but thinking to return it as this makes my ear sore for long time use.

Call only works on right ear piece and also when connected to windows, it worked only on one ear. However, when I switched to linux, works fine for both sides.

You cannot use left ear pod only. You need to have a right one with you or you cant use it.
Other thing is they tend to lose battery even inside the case. Leave it full charged and dont use it for a week a so and all of the battery will be drained.

    My 2 cents

  • +1

Surprised to see all the negative comments here, I wear mine half the day at work and while on the bike and never had an issue with sound, fit or with watching videos.

    • Same. No lag at all while watching videos on my phone. Great sound and they don't stick out any more than their standard wireless buds (that have a cord).

  • Wife got me these for Xmas. For $250…. V good sound and once you get used to them, adequately comfy but are a bit big at 1st, so takes getting used to.

They Do stick out a bit but i dont care that they look a bit odd, so long as they don't fall out with any type of exercise and they don't! Skipping, jogging and weights. Never fail me….

True however, that the buttons for pause, next tracks, volume arent that well designed and takes getting used to! TBH I cant compare to other brands as have never used other decent wireless earbuds, but they have certainly grown on me and the audio quality is the most important so I rate them highly. But I can understand why some of the comments /issues above would turn people off…
I reckon the buttons are weirdly designed due to waterproofing… Very happy as they were free but I'd prob not want to spend more than 150 had it been my $….

  • Got these refurb for $80 very happy with them!

    • +1

      and some free wax. Bargain!

  • Any one know what the sound quality is like in comparison to the power beats pro?

  • -1

No idea why people spend $200 on these when you can get similar quality from amazon such as soundpeats for $40, hell aldi were shelling out $60 wireless earbuds from their bauhn brand and i've been using them ever since. Please think with your wallet

    • +1

Soundpeats Truengine SE is amazing for under $50! hope they last a while

    • +1

I got some QCY's and getting frustrated with them constantly disconnecting with eachother.

Any issues with the Soundpeats disconnecting from eachother?

      • +2

I have a pair of SoundPeats, and they seem to be exactly the same as the QCY's I have. Neither are anywhere near the quality of the Bose Soundsports though…not remotely in the same league.

Both my Soundpeats and QCY seem to need to be re-paired together (and to my device) every now and then. I think mainly when I run the battery too low or something…dunno.

Of course…QCY/Soundpeats etc etc are very, very cheap….and very good value.

    • +3

Looking at your comment though, i doubt you used $200 ones before. So there is no comparison as there is no reference point.
My wife would be perfectly fine with the standard iphone headphones, but i would slit my wrist if those are what i use every day.

All comes down to each individual's financial situation and tastes in audio.

  • I meant I haven't had any comparisons with real decent ones, but have used soundpeats true wireless… Total crap. $30 from Amazon and they were absolute shyte… no bass whatsoever, so cannot compare cheap ones with ones like these, Jabra , sony etc according to reviews… for me all about decent bass for music to work out to and sound peats had NONE

  • i found one pair with charging case on the bus the other day. i should have kept it :D

  • Not worth it. You have better options close to this price range.
I had all those negative experiences mentioned above…

  • I returned mine I bought for $79. Can't use one at a time, looks terrible, feels terrible, not great sync too.

  • Anyone know if these are better or worse than the Bose soundsport wireless with the cable ?

I'm always forgetting to charge mine so the charging case alone would be handy.

  • Lot's of people mentioning lag here. I'll just add my two bob…AFAIK these don't do AptX. If you are on Android, this may make a difference. You'll be stuck with SBC. By my understanding, this may result in lag for you.

For Apple users, these will do AAC for you. I don't watch a lot of video with these, but I have not noticed lag with my Apple devices.

Soooo…if video sync is important to you, and you're in the Android camp, maybe look elsewhere?

  • Anyone got thoughts on the Creative Outlier Gold's and how they compare to this?

  • Bought these for $80 in Bose price error end of last year - sold them on GumTree for $120 later on, wasn't impressed.
