Wow that's pretty amazing price, what was the experience like? Any delays or weird problems?

    • Purchased a 7 (not the T) from BuyBuyBox.

      No issues.

I've purchased 4 OnePlus phones from these type of sellers over the years and never had any issues (they all still work).

2 * OnePlus One (One each for wife an myself)
      1 * 6T (for me)
      1 * 7 (for wife)

All still going strong. Great phones.

I have been waiting so long for a good 7t pro deal like this… And now I don't know if I should get one given how close we are to the OP8 and the S20 reveals :(

    • Also shipping seems to vary by postcode. Totals 797.75AUD to 4350

    • +1

Me too, been thinking 7T or ROG Phone 2 but it's almost too late..

      • +1

I'm in the same boat, and it's so hard to find those accessories for ROG Phone 2. Super expensive too!

    • +14

If you think that way you will never have a phone. Cos when OP8 or S20 comes you wont want to pay full price and will wait 6 to 9 months for a $7xx deal but then the OP9 and S21 will be around the corner.

      • Galaxy S21? I doubt that will be the name. There's no iPhone 11, lancer evo XI, or GTX 1180.

I'll buy one if they call it "The Phone Formerly Known as Galaxy S( )"

        • +9

There literally is an iPhone 11. It came out a couple of months ago LMAO, what rock have you been sleeping under??

          • +1

@dogee: A rock that apple couldn't penetrate with their numbering conventions apparently :P

      • I have no problem with buying phones for RRP on release (even better if there happens to be a deal on them somewhere). But the 7T Pro was so similar to the 7 Pro that it left me in limbo. The dilemma is (was) now whether to buy the 7T Pro cheap or buy the 8 or S20 on release.

  • +2

At this price, already pulled the trigger during afternoon. Seller is trustworthy and shipping is 7 to 10 days. Bought many phones in the past. Warranty is a different story though.

    • do they provide a tax invoice or that is not AU company?

      • I never needed one but you can sure request. These are the same people who trade as perfect mission in ebay

  • +13

Fantastic phone. Pop-up camera works really well too. MKHB picked this as his best phone of 2019 and used it as his daily and since he reviews and owns all flagship phones I'd say that means something.

    • +3

      Who's MKHB?

          Ahh that’s hot

This is just some random dude, i thought it was an organisation like Cnet.

          • +9

@Bryanalves: Marques is not necessarily some 'random dude'. Although not a fan, he is a force in the new generation of tech reviewers.

As a comparison, CNet has 2.5M Youtube subscribers - Marques: 10M

          • +1

@Bryanalves: @Bryanalves: When mkbhd graduated from University Wired offered him a very very large sum of money to come work there… He turned them down. He's reputable and respected by CNET and wired.

          • @Bryanalves: I wouldn't be surprised if he has a team (because his time is $$$) so I don't know about calling him random

          • @Bryanalves: Yep a random dude with 10M+ subs and 1.68 Billion Views on YouTube
Featuring CEOs and co-founders of big tech companies like Microsoft (CEO and then co-founder), Motorola, TESLA and so many other celebrities.
I have big respect for this guy.

            • @Ozzie15: What makes his reviews good?

              • +1

@Bryanalves: The fact he does it for a living and has a lot more hands on experience with different phones than almost anyone. He has very high quality video equipment and likely staff to help edit his reviews. Because he is highly recognised in the industry he also gets a lot more opportunities and exposure to the latest tech than anyone else.

How he got into that position the the first place is mainly luck, presenting skills, timing and high quality and slick edited videos.

    Just remember ..
    No wireless charging
    No AOD
    No VoLTE

    • +3

I've got a Oneplus 7 Pro and with a 2 minute computer mod have Volte and Vowifi working great on Optus.
There is also AOD mod options available on Xda if you are looking to have it.
As for wireless charging, you go with something like this https://www.ebay.com.au/p/10034148705?iid=192594626747&chn=p…

    • +3

No VoLTE on Telstra…. but you can activate it on Optus if you fiddle around with some software and settings. I've got it enabled on mine - XDA have a few guides. Would I recommend it? Only if you're comfortable or had experience with tinkering through Android stuff like roms/root etc.

    • +1

What is VoLTE? Is that no whatssap or Facebook messenger calls on this phone?

      • I don't think so. I believe VoLTE means making voice calls (ie normal phone call) using WiFi networks.

        • +3

VoLTE is voice over LTE (4G). Voice calls over Wi-Fi is usually listed as Wi-Fi Calling.

    • ATM i think only one that ticks all boxes are Samsung phones

  • +1

Is this seller trustworthy? Site looks kind of dodgy giving me red flags

    • I got my OnePlus 5 from them without any issue.

  • +1

Bought 7T from the same site in last Nov, first time switching out of Samsung Galaxy series and I'm happy with this phone.

  • +3

Outstanding phone, best I've ever owned. Made the jump from a $2k iPhone and this is better. Only things it falls down on is no wifi calling in Australia and the iPhone camera was better.

    But 10/10, I love it

    • +3

Install Pixel Gcam and you've got yourself a better camera that iPhone too

      • Hmmm, can't seem to find on the play store… Is that the correct app name?

        • Not on Play Store as hacked app ported over from Pixel phones.
Loads of development on it for different devices/hardware. Start here:
          https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/de5ctn/gcam_for_th…
Huge difference on my OP 6T, never use stock camera anymore

          • @hen dawg: OH, so stock camera is not as good as the apps? I always just thought the apps were for playing around with the image and stuff, i didnt realise it can also help just take better photos.

            • @lonewolf: The multiple exposure HDR+ AI tech developed for Pixel phones results in superb, well exposed photos with good dynamic range.
Computational photograpy is what they call it

          • @hen dawg: Thank you!

    • I'm waiting with my oneplus 6t to upgrade to 8t hope the camera beats iPhone

  • Such a amazing price. It's just that too late for it. But if U need a phone now. Jump down on it

  • -6

My only concern would be whether or not they can ship it Australia ATM with the flight restrictions

    • +2

      Reread your own comment.

  • +1

Wow that's an amazing price. Got my 7 Pro for a little over $1000 and really recommend it.

  • +1

Excellent seller and trusty. Infact my OnePlus 7t arrived on a Sunday via DHL with signature.

  • I bought the 7T at the end of last month but it still hasn't shipped yet nor have they responded to any contact forms I submitted. Could be because I bought the silver colour and they just recently marked it out of stock (probably didnt have stock before either) but I had to do a PayPal charge-back.

    • +1

Yeah same thing happened to me in December. Read lots of good reviews ok whirlpool but they did not respond to any forms and did not give a refund until I raised a PayPal dispute. I am considering of giving another shot but do keep in mind it is a very possible scenario

    • Did they respond to the PayPal dispute?

      • Not yet but my order on their website updated to 'Reversed'. They can update the status but can't respond to contact forms I submitted (sigh).

  • Does It state anywhere whether it's the global version or the CN version flashed with oos?

  • -2

What's with "flagship" phones with no water proofing …

    • +1

Oneplus doesn't pay for IP certification, they're at worst splash resistant and at best on par with flagships. There's water tests on xda and youtube.

    • +2

It is waterproof, there are multiple videos on youtube that show this. Apparently in an effort to keep the price down they didn't go through with getting the certification.

    • +2

This actually has waterproofing but they so called don't get it 'certified' as the IP rating costs $ and you'll have every person claiming warranty if their phone has issues

    • Well according to what I've read about the 7 Pro it won't last more than 7 minutes a foot of water

  • Have been looking for awhile, I've heard some bad things about this site but have bought anyway. Will let you know. Thanks for posting.

    • Don't worry I am a regular buyer with them. Although their customer service is not so great (never got replied to a order cancellation request), they are genuine traders. Over past few years, I have bought around 10 phones with them never any issues but as I said warranty is a different story.

      • Do you know if you have to pay GST before Custom will clear the item. I'm guessing so.

        • I would like to know this too.

        • So far I bought 7 from their website and none remaining was from their ebay page

        • yeah, concerned will add another 10% on-top

      • I've read buying is not usually a problem but communication and after-sales support / warranty is a nightmare.

  • +3

OnePlus make really great quality phones. Their version of Android is very lightweight without all the bloatware that you find on Samsung phones.

  • -3

Just a fair warning to others: The latest Oxygen OS 10.3 has made my phone useless. I'm unable to use most apps on my mobile 4G connection.

    Source: owns an OnePlus 6.

    • I'm on 6T same OS version (non rooted) and I have no issues? Any app in particular?

      • WhatsApp, Hearthstone, Spotify

    • Isn't the latest 10.0.7?

      • Latest I saw was 10.4 but no way am I upgrading again after this happened to me

    • OxygenOS 10.3 works for me, but sometimes during a reboot i get stuck in the boot up screen and battery life is a lot worse compared to when it was running Android 9. Phone is also heating up a lot more and it is not as buttery smooth as the previous major Android OS…

      • Yea, other users on the OnePlus forum were taking about those issues.

This new OS has been a nightmare for me, and it seems I might have to do a factory reset, after backing up my data.

  • +1

Amazing Price considering I paid $1,100ish on release. Amazing Phone.

  • Out of stock, I am too slow!

  • The BuyBuyBox website seems to be very vague about where they're based, but it must be outside of Australia since there's no GST (they say "please do not ask for tax return invoice as it does not apply to the item we sell"). A google search suggests they're based in Hong Kong.

Are there any decent local sellers of the OnePlus devices? Asking as I prefer to buy my mobile phones on a price protection credit card - given how rapidly mobiles depreciate - and price protection only ever applies to Australian sellers. Furthermore, ideally the same store would stock that phone for another 2 years, and remain price competitive. And yes, I know that finding a suitable store with those criteria for OnePlus devices is probably going to be hard :-)

    • +1

Most do import sadly. I bought my OnePlus from mymobile.com.au as they have a physical store in Brisbane where I'm located, paid gst on it and got a tax receipt which was nice.

They weren't the absolute cheapest but I have price protection on my credit card so didn't particularly care about that.

    • Doesn't seem to be available locally, but even if it were I doubt you'd get all of that at anywhere near this cheap a price. Kogan's lowest mark is at around $1,200 and they also import.

  • Snagged myself 1, this is a great price! Thanks OP

  • The website allows you to proceed to check out without putting in post code and shipping fee. Would that cause any problem?

    • I tried that, but once you go through PayPal it'll redirect to the website where you'll have to select your shipping method and pay the shipping fee.

  • +1

Damn I missed this. My Oneplus 6 is due for an upgrade already 😂

    • Man just hold on to it. Wait for 8 to come out and you regret getting this one

      • That's so true. I just wish they didn't keep creeping to 7".

        • I have a 6t holding onto with gcam mod still not too bad. Just can't compete with iPhone 11 pro photos…

Other than the punch hole I like the 8 so far…

          • @neonlight: That's what's urging me to upgrade. The better cam paired with gcam.

Hard to beat an iPhone with anything when it comes to photos!

            • @Clear: Huawei can beat but I don't like its OS skin and bloatware.

The best phone would be a Huawei with Oxygen OS and with Oneplus community + GCam mod, also with Oneplus price and available locally.

              Someone make it happen…

That would beat iPhone no issues.

              One can only dream.

              • @neonlight: If only OxygenOS was open source then it would be possible!

  • +1

Just got my order cancelled saying no stock. BTW I purchased the phone yesterday morning even before this post.

    • Same here. Pretty disappointed

    • +1

      Same here :(

      • +1

Mine got cancelled too, I think all the orders will be cancelled!

    • Consider the virus going on they probably don't have enough stock guys….

Even Hyundai has no parts to build cars mate

      • +2

That's actually what their email said,

"Due to Wuhan pneumonia, we cannot guarantee when would have this item in stock again."
