Stumbled upon this while looking for another turntable - but the price was too good to pass up! This appears to be the cheapest price by far for this model ($400+ elsewhere) - in fact, I couldn't find another Pro-Ject turntable this cheap while searching.

Only available in White.

if you don't eant a vertical just get a Pro-Ject Elemental as it's about the same price and tgey both use similar parts

Hmm, interesting. I never knew Pro-ject did a vertical TT! Seems to get good enough reviews and because I don't own one myself I can't really comment but playing LPs vertically has many more challenges than playing horizontally so lets hope Pro-ject have addressed them all. Unless it's a jukebox or a classic Sharp VZ-2000 Boombox I think my money will always stay with a flat/horizontal TT mech.

Reviews seem to look good - I'm no audiophile but I'm very interested to hear how it sounds when it arrives!

      • Absolutely! Please let us all know. Would be great to A-B compare it with an equivalent priced (or cheaper) deck from JB or wherever too.

Wish I had a spare deck for comparison, but will report back with my findings anyway!

          • @ngengerous: How's the TT ngengerous?

@SteveAndBelle: Good timing, just arrived last night actually!

So far so good, the materials feel premium and it looks fantastic. Paired it with a Little Bear T7 pre-amp, and the sound is pretty great. I don't really have any other reference points as this is the only TT I have - but I've had a few comments about how cool it looks from friends, and the fact that it sounds great while looking unique for $250 is a win in my book :)

Plus, if you have coloured/special vinyl, vertical makes it much cooler to look at!

@ngengerous: Nice work! Looks like they're still available too… if anyone else is keen.

this looks so cool, but I'm worried about going all patrick bateman if I got it

"Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?"

"Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor."

Go to the opera house play in June!

oh man had no idea it was on. Probably even a better use of $49 than getting business cards with raised lettering, pale nimbus, subtle colouring and gasp even a watermark.

I bought this last year for 300ish, it's very cool. Definitely a conversation piece. I can't compare it to any other record player as it's my only one, but the sound is rich and well balanced, using edifier S3000 Pro.
Keep in mind if you're new to record players, you'll also need a preamp.
There's another model like this that has Bluetooth incorporated as well, but honestly, what's the point of that

Headphones, at night and you can walk around without strangling yourself.

yeah but, sending a record player through Bluetooth to your headphones? Just get a subscription to Tidal or something with HR music. That way you can listen to it when you're working out or something. I want to sip scotch when I'm playing records
