50% Cashback ($10 Cap) from Book Depository via the ShopBack Web Extension (12pm-10pm AEDT)

2010

Hey guys,

This week we're running a cashback upsize for one store per day, available only through our web extension for Chrome and Firefox. Click on our extension icon at 12pm AEDT each day to bring down the menu to see the offer we're running for the day.

For today's offer, we are offering 50% cashback at Book Depository (capped at $10) - limited to one transaction per customer at the Secret Extension rate. To activate cashback at the special rate, visit Book Depository's homepage (from 12pm AEDT) and follow the extension's popup prompt as it appears. Ensure that the prompt is also showing the correct cashback rate before activating.

Purchases through ShopBack's app, mobile site and direct desktop site do not qualify for the special extension cashback rate.

Any questions or issues? Send an email to [email protected] and we'll help sort it out.

Well, I'm out since I'll be at work and they don't allow you to install extensions.

    • +1 me too

    • It does say until 10pm. You can sort it once you get home?

      • +1

Fair enough, if it's active till 10PM I've got a good chance!

  • +4

There should be no need for the extension. This should just be tracked the normal way.

    • +8

Obviously it's to promote and encourage people using the extension.

There have been numerous comments of orders not being delivered in the previous deals posted.

    • -1

i've found them fine so far, 4/5 deliveries got delivered. One got missing for a month, they sent out another one free of charge, and the missing one got delivered in the end.

    • I received my orders from the November deal but the cashback is still pending. I contacted CB so hopefully that will be sorted out soon.

    • book depository has been my go to place for books for years. They are usually pretty good!

    • +4

I've always received my books from Book Depository.

    • +1

Book Depository is an Amazon subsidiary.

    • I find the books I order from Book Depository around Christmas tend to go missing or take more than a month to arrive.

  • +3

I’m still waiting for my $10 ShopBack to be approved (now overdue…) for the last Book Depository deal…

    • +3

I'm still waiting for $70 spend at DJs from black friday…

    • Same. Says it was due on 10th Feb and now shows and enquire logo.

  • how much cashback on the second book i order?

    • Cashback will be voided for the second book order if it's made through the extension. If you make the transaction for the second book order through our desktop/mobile site or app then you should get 1%.

      • Are you saying if I purchase 2 books in one transaction, I will only receive cashback for the first book?

        • Nope, restriction is on a transaction basis. Order as many books as you like in your first transaction, but you will only receive a maximum of $10 cashback in that transaction.

Interpreted pitpicker's comment as placing a second order but I can see where you're coming from.

  • Thanks OP. got a $19 book :)

  • How come I can activate the offer now through the extension even though it's not 12 PM yet?

    • +1

      AEDT

      Come on now!

  • Thanks OP - bought 'Where the Crawdads Sing' as it was sold out at Christmas.
    Cheers

  • +3

FYI Book Depository isn't always the cheapest.

    • That's true. Always check Booko to compare.

  • Thanks, will buy. Love these deals.

  • Haha any excuse to buy another book :)

  • +1

are you able to earn cashback on preorders ?

  • -1

Will Cashback Troopers coming back soon?

  • -1

Well they have lost a sale from me as I don't have a PC thereof I can't install the extension! :-(

    • +3

Considering this promo is to promote people using the SB Web Extension, you don't fit into the demographic they are targeting.

    • +1

I'm not sure if this is supported by @gotyourback but Firefox on my Android phone supports extensions (I use it with adblock) :)

  • +2
  • Thanks OP, got the favourite investment book on OZB - https://www.bookdepository.com/Barefoot-Investor-Scott-Pape/…
Not the best price but close and best at the time.

  • +2

    Cheers, bought OPM manga.

    • +2

Lol that's what I've been doing too. Almost got the whole set.

      • +1

I'm supremely jealous, I've only just started. Ordered 1 and 8 from this deal and am awaiting delivery for the ones in between.

        • +1

Nice. I did the same thing as you and bought them out of order but I did it based on price since they tended to fluctuate. On average I paid about 7 dollars a book.

I just need 1 more book before I'm completely caught up but I haven't even opened a single book because I've read them all online.

          • +1

@ChillBro: Wow, I'm even more jealous at $7. Which store and what deal made it possible?

            • +1

@Caped Baldy: Mainly these 50% off bookdepo ones. Also amazon when they're $8-10 plus a $2 or $3 cashback.

It's easy but just a bit tedious collecting them all.

              • +1

@ChillBro: Yeah, cool. Thanks for letting me know. I bought a saitama figurine from Tokyo Otaku Mode and they had some ridiculous premium membership promo so I ended up getting those 6 for around $25usd. I'll keep an eye out for more book depo deals.

                • +1

@Caped Baldy: Nice, that's hella cheap. Is it in English or Japanese? Shame I can't read the latter.

                  • @ChillBro: Yikes, I stuffed up. Ended up with the Japanese version by my mistake.

                    • +1

@Caped Baldy: It was recent? Then I hope you can get them to refund asap!

                      • +1

@ChillBro: I think I'm SoL. It was mostly going on the shelf anyway.

                        • +1

@Caped Baldy: Damn, sorry to hear that mate. At the very least you can (re)read those missing volumes online. But volume 7 is the bomb!

  • Thank you.

  • Cool. I ordered Jennifer Government, which is supposed to be like 1984 but with corporations as the bad guys. It was also written by a Melbourne guy
    https://www.bookdepository.com/Jennifer-Government-Max-Barry…

$20.78, after discount brings it down to just under $11

    • +1

$7.99 from basement books ($13.93 including delivery)

      • So the BD one is cheaper then, since delivery is free there.

  • +1

This applies to prices before GST right? I didn't get the full cashback even though my purchase was >$20.

    • Correct.

  • Thanks, Couple of kids books sorted

  • Eventually placed an order but the BD extension was very obtuse - activated it and then it would tell me to activate it again. Did this a few times but then just bit the bullet and placed the order. Hope it tracks correctly.

    • Good news - it tracked. However I am not a fan of the ShopBack extension as you never really know if it is properly activated or not.

      • The extension turns green and says "Activated".

        • Yes when it works correctly. However with Book Depository this did not happen.

  • This came just in time for me to order some textbooks. Very happy.

  • Used the extension, said it activated, but the order didn't track and my claim got rejected.
