I was getting sick of my dog eating my Havinanas - I think these are more comfortable regardless of the 25c

    • My dog just scratched my Havies to bits trying to get the paint out of his claws

    • -4

People will think you’re poor if you don’t hav Havs.

    • +6

Every pair of Havs I've bought in the last 3 years have had a blowout at the 7month mark - conveniently just outside warranty.

I think 18 pairs of Kmart thongs for the same cost will be the plan now haha

      • I buy the bigw ones they last me over a year wearing them every night in my house and in the shower.they are just $1.5. When one goes I but a new pair and replace one side with a new one and wait for the old one to go.

nice going, but you need kmart in title

  • +8

Some of these cheaper thongs can be incredibly slippery on Wet surfaces.
    Not saying these ones are

    • +7

It’s actually harder being a bogan than a supermodel!

      • ooh - I do like to see US supermodels wearing thongs … !

    • +2

I can attest to this. I had a pair of cheapies slip on me JUST LAST NIGHT and I ended up scraping one of my knees and an elbow pretty badly. If it was on camera, it'd have been comical to watch.

    • And made of cheaper rubber that will rub your feet raw.

    • I've heard these ones are quite slippery on wet surfaces. Havianas aren't much better really.

    • Yeah these are really slippery. Bought 4 pairs about 3 months ago for $1.25 each though so can't complain. None of them have broken yet either!

    • I learned this lesson on my wedding day when I slipped on my way to the hairdresser and busted up the knee that was to be visible in the split of my dress..

      • Oy vey - so the 'synthetic rubber' doesn't have the wet grip properties of actual rubber and leaves you more likely to be injured with torn tendons, etc. in a slip'n'fall on a wet surface ?

supermarket fake fall injury claimants take note - it wasn't me - it was me bluddy fongs !

all captured on CCTV for you to rewatch during your court case for insurance fraud …

no wonder they're cheap - you'll need the rest of your money while you're injured and unable to work …

She had dumps like a truck, truck, truck

These are the thinnest things I’ve ever tried. Can feel every bump in the ground. Got these when I got caught out in the rain and my shoes were drenched.

        I used Afterpay for mine.

  • +3

Op thanks for giving back to the community I just need a singlet (without a pocket) deal as I’m ok for boardies

  • +2

These have been $1.25 for quite a few months, I thought this was common knowledge on OzBargain!
I wear them myself and I can tell for $1.25 I really don't care if they get damaged or "explode", just buy a new pair!
They are also not so slippery as others claim - went rock fishing a couple times and didn't slip even on wet seaweed.
Also from my research these are the cheapest thongs you can get in Australia, even cheaper than any local cheap-o chinese shop.

    • +7

Wait what…. you go rock fishing in thongs?

      • Wait what… you don't? They always get wet, no point to bring shoes.

      • I believe they float - which may help in locating the body after said fisherman got washed off the rocks by a rogue wave … do they sell them in high-viz colours ?

  • +1

I like to get a few pairs of these thongs.

Price is a bargain as article was from 2011. I'll probably need to pay double next time.

  • -1

Got a pair at the front, at the back, in the cars, in the office. They're great. Just don't expect them to last too long. But hey for that price just replace replace replace

    • +6

More shit to pollute our planet with. Yay!

      • Why are you here? :)

              • @Munki: I'm here

You forgot to feed me this morning….

    • +2

The three R’s: replace, replace, replace.

  • Good to keep a pair of these for spare parts if you get a blowout in your existing pluggers.

  • +1

Just a word of advice to anyone thia might be relevant to: I bought these Kmart thongs as a replacement for my other thongs. After 2 months of casual wearing, my feet started to hurt really really bad. So much so, that I couldn't walk straight for a week. These may be ok for wearing for a short while (i.e. at the beach or something), but I'd not recommend anyone wearing them for prolonged periods of time.

    • +5

So. You're a hard no on hiking?

      • +2

        Nah, you'd be fine.

      • +1

Nag the cool shoes got him into so many orgies that he couldn’t walk straight for other reasons.

    • Damn, my boss told me I need some black shoes for work, there go's that plan.

    • I upvoted you - thanks for the warning

  • Pluggers on these break easy. Have owned many pairs and ended moving to slides.

    • +2

      With socks I hope.

  • -1

    Are these made in Kmart

  • Prefer the clothed plugged ones, plastic rips up my big toe

  • +2

I've had enough of these thongs for a while, every pair I get after a month or two the centre plug comes out when I'm walking.
Just lashed out and got some Mambo thongs for $5 reduced from $12 at BigW.

    • +1

Bread tag on the underside of the plugger can extend the life of them a bit (unless there is a clean break, which in that case your stuffed).

    • +1

  • +1

Geez this is getting real tight. Sphincter tight.. for some..

  • Great kid corrector and cheaper than a jug cord

    • Jumper cables lead to faster corrections.

  • Like your username. It naturally belongs to OzBargain community. Welcome and thanks, OP!

  • I bought some to shave with…

THANKS MATE! I PAID MY RENT WITH THE SAVINGS :3

  • +4

here for the comments. did not disappoint.

  • Thanks OP, need a new pair of safety boots - the old ones aren't really doing the job anymore.

  • Definitely stock up,

You're going to need to keep replacing a new pair of thongs every other day.

  • Op we are not worthy of such deals

  • Excellent! My last pair are relegated to garden thongs, getting me a new pair of going out thongs!

    • My thongs have the same life cycle. Remember these ones are black, so they are good for formal occasions.

  • Get a few, it is OK if you lose them at the beach.

    • +2

But please don't… You know the environment and stuff

      • I never buy mine, just go beachwalking often to recycle

  • +1

The Americans would be outraged to learn we wear thongs everyday!

  • Birthday and Christmas presents sorted. Just in time for Valentine's Day too!

  • Hmmmm……How do i justify burning 2 liters of fuel to buy a pair of thongs that is on sale for 25 cents off at the nearest K-mart and call it a bargain….Incoming down votes….

  • +1

    Deal of the year

  • +2

Saw a lady at the store with a trolly filled with these. I mean right to the top. Had to be well over 100 pairs. And she was just scanning away. Scanning. Scanning. She's probably still there.

    • +3

24-hour Kmart. She is still there.
