You can do better on the galaxy s2

        • Hi

We are cheapest in Shopbot and other shopping comparison on AU stock

Yeah but $166 is a lot for australian (manufacturer, as opposed to seller) warranty. Compared to the shopping square $523 postage included deal that was on ozbargain.

I'm waiting for a deal on the S2 as well. I'm happy to part with an extra $100 for australian stock. But that means ya still gotta drop $60 off.

With that said, you're not advertising the S2 here. So this isnt a complaint about your post.

If you're having issues because the damned thing is slow as buggery, it's a filesystem issue. You have two options:

      1. update to the latest firmware if you have access or
      2. Cyanogen mod.

I got the shits and went with option 2. No regrets. The thing is fast now and no longer a frustration to use.

Should be noted that option 2 may void your warranty. I stopped caring. The official firmware was/is a nightmare.

      • Cyanogenmod was the way to go with my Galaxy S. I upgraded to the LG 2x, however my mum is still on the Cyanogen mod. It truely is amazing <3 I gave stock a go a few times, and every time it was just as laggy / piece of shit as before lol

I don't think this is the time to buy a phone. Wait for two weeks till the iPhone announcement. Doesn't matter if you are buying one or not, it will put pressure on the other manufacturers to be more competitive. E.g. lower prices.

But if you need to buy a phone now, they are pretty good prices.

Yeah but $166 is a lot for australian (manufacturer, as opposed to seller) warranty. Compared to the shopping square $523 postage included deal that was on ozbargain.

The Shopping Square 'deal' should have been removed from OzBargain, as it was illegal.

$166 more pays for a legal product, a legal import, a product that can be legally connected to our networks/carriers, and a two year Australian warranty that is backed by the manufacturer with genuine parts.

The seller warranty you mentioned (one year I believe) means that the seller either sends the phone to Hong Kong (long delay for the owner of the phone), or has it looked at in AU by some private repairer who has no access to genuine SAMSUNG repair parts.

Now, back on topic to this offering - Samsung Galaxy S $409, LG Optimus Black $389 + Free Shipping = a POSITIVE from me.

    Good on you MobileCiti !

I can't understand why you are not pressuring the ACMA to prosecute your competition who are operating illegally by selling un-certified illegal imports, and not collecting and paying the GST involved.

un-certified illegal imports <= ok, fine, maybe it is (though, whether they are truly illegal are very much debatable).

But those local shops which sell the same item in AUS for almost 2 times the money everywhere else in the world should also be guilty too. Why? Coz those shops are the true cause of these illegal import. Maybe indirectly, but very effectively.

At the end of the day, who would bother to wait/risk for an import goods if it's not worthwhile?

Guys don't bother with A3Australia. (s)he has a history of criticizing Non A-Tick approved phones.

      • $380 inc or ex GST? Au Stock? Manufacturer Warranty??

  • whether they are truly illegal are very much debatable

No debate. Call the ACMA and ask them. It is a fact.

Who else could I suggest? That Whirlpool thread was for buying the SAMSUNG Galaxy S2 in Australia.

MobileCiti had the lowest prices in Australia for legal A-Tick SAMSUNG Mobile Phones with the full local manufacturers warranty. None of the other sellers suggested in that thread were selling legally imported, A-Tick certified, mobile phones - or even providing legal electrical safety approved AC chargers and AU plugs.

    • You've got problems.

  • If you are after the galaxy S, for $179.50 more over 24 months, you can get $450 of Virgin big cap credit each month.
