  • Argh! NOW there's a teeny tv for a teeny price. AFTER I buy one for a lot more. :/

  • its gonna be weird going over to the other side of the carpark to the new store…

  • Sounds like a pretty good deal on the Sunbeam appliances! Will definitely drop by on Friday to check them out. Thanks OP!

  • I just bought one (from the morning). Coles was very nice to put 1 out in 5 minute intervals. Such that there would be no person buying 10 tvs. Very smart idea, so the tvs get shared around. =) So talking about the tv, it's perfect size for the kitchen. It is quite clear for HD. It also has HDMI, and usb input for updates. The sound sounds okay with the bass turned to 100. Changing its channels is quite rapid, I am using a very very old-school coil antenna and it picks up ALL channels both HD and SD. Its remote is quite big and sturdy, unlike other cheap tvs' remotes. Its power consumption is <49 watts (quite low) with 5 stars rated for energy efficiency. It also does not have an annoying external power brick supply. And finally, its finish is polished black/piano which doesn't make it seem too cheap and it has 0 dead pixels. =D Thanks cma.

Was there just now, I'd say the TV is a pretty good buy for that price (Agree it's quite clear for HD). Perfect size for kitchen or bedroom.

Apparently they also had some kambrook rice cooker going for $10 but nothing left on shelf…quite a few extra specials available in store too (eg Riviana long grain rice 10kg $10).

      • When I was there on Thursday Morning, there were some of those on-sale items on display on the end of the aisles. I saw no sunbeam kettles in the kitchen area, but I walked around and saw a whole lot of them on the shelves at the end of one of the aisles. People were going mad, literally, for the Sunbeam Electric Frypan + Deep Fryer Combo for 30. And most of them buying the 10 dollar ipod/iphone speaker set did not even know what it was for. AND, they also had 10 dollar telstra prepaid mobiles too. Lol.

        • I was after the frypan + deep fryer combo too but they were totally sold out so grabbed myself a slow cooker instead. I saw quite a few people going after kitchenwares.

The new outlook is quite good (I think the lighting makes a big difference), but not sure if it was too crowded (at around 10pm yesterday) I found me and my mate trying hard not to bump into others with our trolley so didn't find the shopping experience that good.
