I used to love this place. I reckon their food is now shite and am surprised they still have plenty of stores open.
Way too expensive for what you get
When did you have them last? They've cleaned up their act since ~2016, as high up McDonald's exec joined the business.
Their Hellfire burgers are actually good and have decent spice (way better than the new Maccas burgers).
Have to say that my experience is completely the opposite of what you're saying, and has been for the past ~4 years.
I think it comes down to what you order. As fast food goes they aren't any worse than the alternatives. If I want fast food I go to redrooster because their service is better. At kfc could be waiting 20+ minutes to get served. I would probably rate hungry jack's the worst fast food chain. Old dirty stores, terrible service, expensive and terrible food.
We avoided them for years because the local place had lousy food and service. We were tempted back in with the Xmas specials and their buttermilk wings are keepers. Crispy and more-ish.

still, RR chips are great, and their $5 deals are pretty good (sucks that you can only get them before 4pm)
the only time i walk into a shop is if i've got loyalty credit or freebies
