  • Thanks, think I will jump on this.. or wait some more…hmmm will it get cheaper..

    • +2

Well the new phones are out next month (?) .

These will only go down in price.

    • I know, right? I'm slightly tempted to upgrade from an S5 with this current S10e offer, but also prepared to wait some more.

I did notice that JB Hi-Fi has removed the 'On Sale' banner from their S10e page, yet the price has remained at $788 (for now…)

      • +1

I've also been waiting and waiting but do you think they're going to drop much lower than $669?

I've just given up waiting and decided to commit at this price. It'll be cheaper tomorrow I bet 😂

        • +1

I reckon something between $550 to $599 would be the final price this year. Samsung doesn't have an e variant this year and they need something relatively small to fill out the gap in their line-up.

          • @Rolling245: $599 would be very tempting! 😀

          • @Rolling245: No chance, if budgets an issue, why not get the lg v40

          • +1

@Rolling245: The A series fills the gap.

          • -1

@Rolling245: Pretty sure I read somewhere that the S10 series is officially being sold this year as entry level S devices, with the new A series slotting beneath them

          • -1

@Rolling245: Filling the gap with something relatively small?

            I'll grab my coat 😳😳

    • +2

I just walked into Southland Samsung showed my S7 got the s10e for 599. No issue no hard sell brought and walked away

      • Nice deal

  • Get a further $50 discount using the email sign-up code…only works on the normal samsung store.

    • oh, that means it prob is worth waiting longer then

    • +5

I've just used the code successfully on the Education Portal.

    • +2

There are two $50 discount promotions but only one of them is valid with the Education Portal. From what I understand, the $50 off $200 min spend code is intended for the normal Online Store only. However, the $50 off $250 min spend code does work with the Education Portal.

If you've received the wrong code, try logging into the Education Portal and (re)subscribe to Samsung emails.

      • Oh ok thanks for that

      • just signed up to the EPP and newsletter -> "Thank you for subscribing to receive marketing communications from Samsung Australia. You will shortly receive a promotion code to redeem $50 off when you spend $250 or more in one transaction from your Samsung Enhanced Partnership Portal."

Also you can get $400 off the S20 Ultra if you preorder it through the Samsung Education Store, plus a bonus free wireless battery pack. Brings it down to $1599.20.

    • Geez that's a lot of money to spend on a phone on a "discount". Two S10e phones plus cases, and maybe a watch for the same price.

    • +1

Depends I bought the iPhone X at launch still using it for that price. A $1 a day seams worth it IMO.

  • +2

    How to access EPP

    • Need an education email, so you probably need to be in school/uni

  • I bought my S10e from Officeworks last year with the price match guarantee (against Amazon) plus extra 5% off. Was about $724 I think so this is a good price. The 10e is about the same size as the S7 (but more screen space) and our S5 still functions well. Maybe check if Officeworks will do price match again!

Thanks, great deal for $669, bought one for the wife.

  • Can’t get in because my school email doesn’t end in .edu.au. :(

    • +1

Sorry, I know this is off-topic but that sounds a tad sketchy. Is the school and your qualification recognised in Australia? ( assuming that you are Australian)

      • It’s a public high school in Ballarat they use the Gsuite system which is why I don’t get a .edu.au domain. Instead it’s .net :(

EDIT: I do however have a .edu.au email for the school however it uses Microsoft (for Word, Excel, etc.) but when I open outlook on the account it says:

        Something went wrong
We couldn't find a mailbox for this recipient. Either they don't have a mailbox or don't have a license assigned.

EDIT 2: Did some research and I found out that my .edu.au emails automatically go to my .net email address. Entered my .edu.au email into EPP and it worked, account fully verified :)

  • How about the s10?

    • 128GB $919.20 before $50 coupon.

  • Can someone share Education Store price for S20 Ultra 128GB & 512GB please?

    • I don't have the EDU store, but my company is an EPP member:

      S20 Ultra: $1,599 and $1,799
      S20+: From $1,199
      S20: From $1,079

All with free wireless battery pack

      • +1

and for telstra staff they get 50% off for samsung phones.

so it'll be MUCH better if you find a family member/friend who works at telstra because 50% off new phones are instant buys.

        wil post a picture soon.

        • Wow!

        • +1

Wow…. 50% off for Telstra staff !!! Wonder if Optus Staff get 50% off too !!

          • +1

@chin2: Yep, Optus do as well. No wireless battery pack though. Only one per staff member and it’s all tracked, so hopefully staff don’t abuse it

  • I’ve usually avoided any android other than Pixel, just for the sake of bloatware.. can anyone help out with a couple q’s from their personal exp?
    - is there a way to get rid of the bloatware and almost run a stock pixel style OS?
    - is there a dedicated bixby button? (Hoping not..)
    - can you use the Google camera APK? If so, what’s the camera like? I loved my Pixel for photos. Not the biggest fan of the iPhone XS camera..

    • +2

Not from all from personal experience. I Googled most of it.

      • Yes you can "disable" apps that you don't like. You can try adb uninstall to fully uninstall stubborn apps.
      • Yes there is a Bixby Button. Yes you can Remap it.
      • Yes there is a working gcam mod for the Exynos s10e.
  • How's the battery life and performance with the s10e? I've heard the exynos chipset we get is quite a bit worse than USA model, has it gotten better with updates?

  • +1

For the tourist refund scheme, do you know if the education portal give you the proof you need. Also is it ok to open it and start using it prior to leaving the country

    • +2

      Yes to both

  • Still tossing up on whether to wait for a good deal on the S10 Plus or just jump on the edu-priced S20 Plus 5G.

  • +7

I was in the Samsung store today at robina and the sales person said they are doing $200 off deal on all s10's except for the note, plus a trade $ in for old Samsung phone. RRP in store was $799 for s10e 128g. Do some arithmetic and that gives you the phone for $599 - trade in value. Hope this helps.

    • FYI Galaxy s8 (with cracked back glass) trade in value is 15$
      what a joke!
It's worth more using as a camera/webcam only.

    • +3

S10e for $599 ! Someone should post it as a deal as that's lowest on record yet

    • +1

Can confirm, went to Chadstone branch and bought for 599 this morning. They took some details from my old S5 as its 200 off if you have an old samsung. Thanks!

      • +1

What if your phone does not work? Mine has Android guy staying on all the time and says downloading do not turn off, tried all sorts and nothing helped and a store i went to s said need a new chip and to do that they break the screen and have to replace and cost of chip so not worth it. Just curious what they do or oiffer with phone that switches on but thats about it s5.

        • I had the same problem on my s5 few years back. It's a firmware problem not a chip. You can search in google/quora "How do you unbrick a Samsung S5 stuck in Odin mode?"

          • @maharjan: Can you link me where to find this info i tried lots of things from you tube and from Google and nothing worked.
I asked a store which too long time to get back to me what was wrong with it, which if honest i did not believe him.
I got so fed up waiting for him to tell me what was wrong with it i told him i just come grab it back.
I wound be interest to find out if its something else. I just got the a20 for now as funds limited at the time and im actually surprised i find the a20 just as good as the s5,but in saying that the s5 is dated now.

    • Interesting! Are there any conditions for this $200 offer? E.g. selected old Samsung models only, certain condition or better, etc.

    • +1

Anyone know whether this applies at other samsung branches?

      • gutted, bought an s10e last Thursday for $730 as s8 upgrade, and waited weeks for a decent deal… :(

    • Anyone know what the RRP for the S10 model is in Samsung stores?

      • Same as online so:

        S10e
        - Single Sim (only)
        - Prism Black (only)
        - 128GB (only)
        $799.00
        S10
        - Single Sim (only)
        - Prism Black (only)
        - 128GB (only)
        $1,149.00
        S10+

        - Prism Black (only)
