Thought it was a good deal considering that Apple Watch Series 4 and Series 5 are almost identical (hence Apple discontinued Series 4) in its specs. $476.10 after discount - cellular version.

A full priced Series 3 Cellular version is already $469.00 RRP

  Even more reason to wait a few more months for the Series 6.
  The you can get the new one with all the new features, or get the older ones much cheaper.

    If you’re keen on ECG functionality, you can buy one in eg Europe or the US, set it up there (with your iPhone on a local network there) and once the ECG app is on your device, it will work everywhere, also in AU.

        I believe the app is already on your Apple Watch when you buy it in a supported country - it then gets added to your iPhone Health app once it discovers you’re on a network from a supported country (no need to go to the App Store to get it added if I remember correctly). I was able to set one up with an Apple ID which has been used for AU iTunes/AppStore.

        It will get added when it gets approval from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for inclusion on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG).

        No, I think it's based on whether you bought an AU model (ie with an AU charger). As long as it doesn't have the TGA approval here in AU, Apple won't allow their AU Watches to get access to this functionality. That's why I bought one overseas (although it ended up being slightly more expensive than what I would have paid in AU, even after GST/VAT refund).

  The specs are not identical at all. The accelerometers are totally different as are the fact that cellular supports more bands thus more emergency calling bands for when overseas (the normal cellular does not work except for emergency calls overseas). Obviously the always on screen as wel.

    that depends on one's preference - I would say the difference is minimal.

    But if comparing between Apple Watch Series 3 (which Apple is still selling) and a Series 4 - it would be a no brainer to get Series 4.
