[Pre Order] Canon RF 24-105mm F/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens $636.65 + Shipping or Pick up @ Camera Pro

40

Let's face it, not all of us can afford the Canon L series RF lenses.
This seems like a good price for a "budget" Canon RF zoom lens with IS, lighter and cheaper, would go well with the RP.
P.S. Their web site stated PREORDER WITH $500 DEPOSIT.
According to the Canon web site, this is F4-7.1.
Ideal kit lens for your EOS R System camera
This small and lightweight standard zoom lens with 24 to 105mm focal length is perfect for shooting a wide variety of scenes. High-speed autofocus and Image Stabilisation for split-second photo ops along with never-fail, convenient functions for capturing precious memories makes this lens a perfect addition to your kit.

Equipped with an optical image stabiliser
The CIPA standard 5-stop IS effects reduce camera shake and allows you to shoot sharp images even with hand-held shooting.

  • A used Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 might work better.

  • It's f/4.0-7.1

    • I cut and pasted the exact title from the store's web site. There are differing info on the web, probably because it is not released yet. But you are right according to Canon web site.

  • Sorry If the is a stupid question , can this fit a 5D mkII ?

  • Only EOS R series cameras will fit RF lenses.

  • that variable aperture …. I think I'll stick to my prime lens setup for better image quality and cheaper price.

    • Better image with primes, of course. Cheaper price? You can only get one prime at this budget, the RF 35mm. What about for the rest of the range? Even the cheapest entry level primes set up will cost a lot more than this.

  • You could probably get a used RF 24-105 f/4 for $1,000, or a new one close to that with eBay coupons at the right time. f/7.1 is pretty dim.
