Just playing around with dates, as I do, and found $598 Return on Skyscanner (although it's $600 when you click through).

Dates I found are in June.

I would be careful flying to Asia these days. Korea just got blacklisted and most flights are grounded… My aunt is stuck there now.

    • Not limited to Asia; travel in/out of northern Italy may be problematic in the near term (if not already).

      • Yea. Its a big risk travelling during these times. Even with the bargain, don't think its worth it.

only political. Fear of getting sick, probably not so much:

          Infections

COVID-19: Approximately 79,553 cases worldwide; 35 cases in the U.S. as of Feb. 24, 2020.

Flu: Estimated 1 billion cases worldwide; 9.3 million to 45 million cases in the U.S. per year.
          Deaths

COVID-19: Approximately 2,628 deaths reported worldwide; 0 deaths in the U.S., as of Feb. 24, 2020.

Flu: 291,000 to 646,000 deaths worldwide; 12,000 to 61,000 deaths in the U.S. per year.

          For now, of course.

          • @beatthatflight: Would love to go….but I keep hitting F5 on this. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

@Coops1: yeah, similar - looking at https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.h…. But see stats above, if you're not worried about the flu, Covid-19 is not (yet) as big an issue, numbers-wise.

Of course the quarantines and flight bans on Chinese-sourced routes are a bit different problem :/

              • @beatthatflight: Yes highly unlikely I'll get sick, but I already booked with Qantas for Tokyo in late March and I'm gonna be so pissed if my flights get cancelled…! Been wanting to go so badly for the past 12 years and this will be the first time!! T_T

            • @Coops1: Thanks for the link. Can’t see text value adds on that site, worldometers has a good running commentary with source links added for news articles etc.

  • Have my plan this July. you can subscribe Gov's recommendation here https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/destinations/asia/japan

Japan is current on lvl2: exercise a high degree of caution. lvl 4 is travel banned i.e. China.
