  • how to get 22 for the 128gb shows up as $27 for me

    • +1

go through the link he posted

      • I did, only the 32gb shows up as $9, the 64 is $22.44 and 128 is $27.35 for me

nvm, its on the links posted in description not the direct link to the deal

review from the 128gb ultra flair

take it with a grain of salt

"Well, having trusted the reviews and hype on the speed, this drive is excruciatingly slow. I am right at this moment transferring 53 Gb of data to it which usually takes around 20 - 30 minutes between external USB 3.0 Hard drives. It's an hour and a half later, and we're only about 50% there."

I've given up on SanDisk flash media. All the memory cards I've used develop errors or get really slow. SanDisk make cheap garbage.

Honestly - I've had the same Sandisk USB 3.0 Drive for the last 7 years and it's been absolutely amazing with every use. I think it depends what you buy. The drive I have is the old Extreme USB 3.0 64gb, I also have the Ultra but in comparison it is significantly worse.

This seems to be the newer version of mine

        • I've noticed these get real shitty the cheaper they get and I wouldn't trust any drive that gets too hot too fast.

So far the two Samsung 64GB microSD cards I have are working well although they don't read at full speed. I can't expect much for 19$.

    SanDisk 128 GB Ultra Fit 3.1 - $26.07

Please please please look at benchmarks. At work we have people using ultra fit usb3 3.0 for 4gb files and they transfer at snail's pace.

Ultra fit usb3.1 (not 3.0) does look promising though.

    Don't touch cruzer blade.

    • Wow, I'm surprised some workplaces will allow you to use the portable External storage.

That test is invalid, as it only test 100mb of data, before the drive reaches its cache, you need to test at least 1GB, the initial 500MB is usually faster until the drive hits its buffer

This one is a more accurate benchmark

      Seq writing around 12MB/s

This video explains the inital speed

      • Thanks!

Yeah the ultra fits were bought by staff because they were aesthetic but transferring videos is literally hours instead of a few minutes.

I remember buying my first USB drive like 15+ years ago. It was a 128MB Kingston and it cost me like $118. Back then I thought it was the bomb.

    • +1

      Now it is a bomb

    • They used to lock them away behind the cabinet as well. These days they cant give them away

    • My first was 32mb. It was the biggest you could buy at the time.

  • Dang it, I bought the SDCZ73GB64 SANDISK USB3 ULTRA FLAIR 64GB from Officeworks for $26.97

and here is the actual benchmark for it that USB stick, conducted on a PC bought from Techfast.

      https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/24998654

      Bench:
      20.5%
      Poor

      Sequential:
      Read 37.3
      Write 20.1
      Mixed 27.3

      SusWrite 19.4

      33% 26 MB/s

      Random 4k:
      4K Read 6.9
      4K Write 3

      4K Mixed 3.4

      243% 4.43 MB/s

      • Have you tried H2testw? It looks for errors and does some speed testing.

        • +1

Here ya go, man that took 21 minutes to complete.

Warning: Only 25548 of 58676 MByte tested.

          Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
          Writing speed: 14.0 MByte/s
          Reading speed: 30.6 MByte/s
          H2testw v1.4

@DeeTrance: So basically these are USB2 sticks but with blue trimming to look like USB3!

            • @MrGareth: Yep, quite poor performance if you need speed.

For me it is good for saving excel, word and PDFs. The small form factor was the main reason I bought this, it slides onto the keyring and very light.

The SanDisk 128 GB Ultra Fit 3.1 comes up as $35.31 when I click the op's link :(

    • "Ships from and sold by Amazon AU."

That's not what it said earlier…

  • i am getting this price now : $27.10

  • +1

incorrect price now : SanDisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0 128GB Tropical Blue - $22.86 (Cheapest) >> shows $27.10

  • Showing 26.26 for me too

  • non of these drives seem to be particularly fast. All about 15 MB/s write speed (perhaps more before write cache is full).

  • If you need speed, buy an external SSD like the T5.

  • +1

I find with my 64GB flair, it runs fast (90mb/s) for about 20 to 30 seconds. After which it overheats and drops to around 30mb/s.

  • Super fast delivery. Bought one yesterday, delivered this morning.
