  Does anyone know what is the difference between these two:

  Option1: 256GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe NVMe
  Option2: 256GB Solid State Drive, M.2 2280, PCIe-NVMe, TLC

  They seem to be the same price. Option 1 being selected as default.

    Length of the M.2 SSD?

    • 2242 — 42mm long
    • 2280 — 80mm long

    Also 2280 as "TLC" next to it. No idea what kind of technology would 2242 have. However since it's smaller so maybe QLC, which would be worse performance & durability? You might need to ask Lenovo to confirm that.

      2242 are usually TLC or MLC. QLC is a possibility that I haven't checked for.

      I asked Lenovo about this. The answer was that the same technology is used in both of these with no difference in speed or longevity. Only that one is physically longer than the other.

    Choose Option 2. There are very few big brands releasing M.2 2242 SSDs with most being the budget brands like KingSpec or Lexar.

  Just wondering can I add ram from my old Ideapad 700 to this? My old one stopped working but hope at least I can add components from it. The old ram is DDR4 2133MHZ while this is 2400MHZ.
