Hi Tightarse, are you able to secure a deal for Legion?

    • +3

      And X1 extreme gen2 !

      • They had a good sale on them the other week, $1200 off but unfortunately you couldn't customize it. I want to get the 4k screen.

  • Does the $699 price include cash rewards 12% taken off or not?

      • +2

        I stand corrected 😅😅😅

    • +7

      $699 before cashback.

    • +3

$699 is excluding the cash back. Including cash back is $615

      • NO, you have to take the GST component off first. then cash back.

    • $699.00 and there is further 12% cashback…so effectively $623.50. Maybe TA can confirm?

    • +1

      $615.12 after 12% off. $699 without.

Weird: Once configured with TA coupon, it's more, not less than when i started, by $100+AUD

      • NO, you have to take the GST component off first. then cash back.

    • +4

Price in title is always before cashback

  • sigh just bought a 2nd hand latitude for the same price same specs. Sad

Lenovo just announced ThinkPads with 4000 series processors, something to keep in mind.

    • Announced is the key word. I think the new intel 10 based ThinkPads will be available shortly, however no word on exactly when the AMD versions will be available.
The 4000 series should be a nice improvement though if you can wait a couple months.

      • Would be amazing though, 6+ cores and 12+ treads on a laptop? Might be worth getting rid of a computer if your work loads aren't graphic intensive

        • Availability will definitely take some time, though Lenovo has typically been one of the first companies to adopt new lines of AMD processors in the past. I'm hopeful we'll see 6 - 8 cores in a laptop with very little thermal throttling in a mainstream chasis; sustained performance is often overlooked. We'll see if 7nm can provide it.

        • Base model will probably be 6c/6t for AMD or 4c/8t for Intel. Will have to pony up extra for the HT or 8 core options on AMD

Hi TA. Any love for E595? I am after a bigger screen 😊

    • Yes that would be great please TA!

    • Another vote for E595 please
Waiting to pull the trigger on a better deal, don't want to use Shopback offer

    • Same

  • need something for the old folks to check emails and surf the net, would this fit the bill? They don't use anything else on pc at all.

    • +10

      More than fits the bill!

    • Yes, perfect buy then

  • need specced up x395

  • Has anyone seen these laptops in a store before?

I need a sub $1k device that charges with usb c but I can't wait for the shipping time on this =(

    • What state do you live? The more niche computer stores have them but the price is way worse.

    • Go to the closest centrecom super store, they have tons of great value laptops on display.

  • I received mine 3 days back from the previous deal. Great little lappy!

    • Agree - if it's in stock, they ship quickly. I ordered 2x E490 on a Saturday afternoon, shipped Monday morning, attempted delivery Wednesday. Any customisation led to an estimated shipping time of 4 weeks.

    • How's the battery life so far?

      • According to the battery stats 8-9 hours but real-life usage around 5 hours…I did some light gaming and it was around 2-3 hours.

        • does the temp shoot up crazy while gaming?

i wouldnt want the fan going nuts although i know this laptop is not for any serious gaming.

          • +1

@Usemame: Well, it's getting warm but nothing significant. I played only for like 2 hours. I hardly noticed the fan sound.

  • Hi TA, any deals on 2-in-1 laptops like ideapad C340? Looking one for the kid.

    • Dont worry. Just bought this one instead. Thanks TA

  • The bottom Bezel is thicker than my PS4….

    Thanks TA

  • No chance going through shopback 17%cashback?

    • +4

From the bottom of the OP:

TA codes are locked & exclusive to Cashrewards and will not commission elsewhere.

  • Weird, it's been more than 1 hour, but I haven't received email from Cashreward that my purchase was tracked.

    • Did you get it in the end?

      • +1

Ended up getting mine overnight 👍

        • yeah. managed to get it the following morning

  • What would be the Intel equivalent processor for this one?

    • +3

8250U/8350U but better graphics on the Ryzen APU

  • Link is showing $809.40?

    • +1

Goes to $699 when you apply the coupon after clicking on the custom button.

Anyone done any light video editing on these? I'm looking for a device to take with me on holiday in June (for a month) and need something that I can stitch together some videos of my travels while I'm away (during flights, trains, etc). My thought was to get a refurbished iPad Pro 2017 and use LumaFusion (since the iPad has an app for Insta360 R) but if this can do editing in Sony Vegas while not tearing through the battery, this might be a good option.

    • The APU has great graphics performance but video rendering will probably chew your battery since it's such an intense task. You could do hardware based encoding rather than CPU but the quality will be worse.

I purchased an E14 for the nephew last weekend sale $992 delivered. It has i5 10th gen processor, backlit KB, 512GB NVME hard drive and fingerprint reader on the power button. It took 2 working days to get delivered, can't complain about that.
It's quite fast. After setting it up, I tweaked it a bit to get rid of the Windows 10 bloat. Went from 3.5GB RAM usage to 2.8GB RAM and slightly faster startup.

I have set up an E595 a few months ago, it has same CPU as E495, it was just as fast as the E14 in my experience.
Save some money and get the E495.

  • Can anyone comment on the $36 bag Lenovo suggests to pair with the laptop? It's actually a 15.6" bag. TIA

    https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/accessories-and-monitors/cases-…

    • +1

Not on this specific bag but laptop bags of that style aren't as popular as they used to be 20ish years ago. There are plenty of decent backpacks and satchel bags that include a laptop compartment, but aren't limited to only carry a laptop and charger.

      • Thanks. Good tips.

  • Is the RAM user upgradeable on this?

    • +3

      yes

  • Cheers TA! Hopefully cashback tracks successfully :)

  • Can this be taken on carry on with the packaging to claim gst? Or does it have to be in package at all for gst?

  • Could this be used on the NZ website?

  • Can you get a similar coupon code for the NZ site

When I click 'Customize', it goes to a blank screen. Can't seem to add it to cart any other way. Anyone else havving the same problem?

    • If you have adblock, try disabling it

      • I've done that and it's still the same. Also tried incognito mode.

EDIT: tried it again and it works! Thanks!

        • no go for me
used firefox, edge, ie and chrome

          cannot see the add button.
the customise button, brings a blank screen with a message …loading compatible upgrades….

cant even register to Lenovo site

  • Considering that the new lenovo thinkpads (higher spec range) with the new ryzen 4000's starts at $8** USD, this is an amazing deal.

  • +1

Bought one - Thanks for sharing !

  • shame you can't add a 2nd hard drive, if upgrading to the 512gb what's the best option they both cost the same?

  • Guys, for those subscribed to this thread, please remember that cashback drops from 12% to 3% on this laptop from midnight tonight AEDT. Good luck!

    • Hey TA , any chance of an E595 deal or coupon before midnight please?

    • TA I made my purchase on the 28/02/20 but cash rewards saying "Cashback rate on ThinkPad E series was 3% on the date of your purchase. Anyone else in the same boat?

      • Hey champ. PM me your CR email address and ticket number. I'll sort it out :)

        • TA thanks for getting onto it so quickly to resolve :-)

  • Hi

Going to get one tonight but can't work out what the difference when they both cost the same?

    256GB Solid State Drive, M.2 2280, PCIe-NVMe, TLC vs 256GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe NVMe

  • Sorry one more question, will my existing hard drive fit this laptop: 250GB Samsung 2.5" 850 EVO Series SATA 6Gb/s SSD Drive PN MZ-75E250BW

    • yes has spare 2.5" slot

      • thanks the lenovo chat person was useless they told me it only supports one HD

  • I want to buy 8G ram extra. Does anyone know the name of the ram stick inside this laptop? I remember it's a Samsung 2600Mhz 17-17-17?

  • Bought it thanks TA, now just need to make sure cash reward tracked.

  • I bought one of these in the last deal. Absolutely love it. It's a budget laptop so please keep that in mind but for the price, the performance is awesome! Highly recommend adding another stick of RAM to 16GB if you want to do any sort of light gaming on it.

  • Bought on 27th, still no shipping estimate let alone delivery estimate. Lenovo was happy to take my money though.

I've seen comments for previous deals so I'm not that surprised but still disappointed.

Surely I deserve an estimated delivery date, even if it's a way off.

    • Same here, interestingly though. I read that they only charge when unit is shipped. Not true I guess

      • Delivery: somehow my order is marked as custom so delivery is delayed. It's not customised!

Charge: actually I've only been charged for the case as that has been shipped. I haven't been charged for the e495 yet. My mistake.

      Expected to Ship
      March 25, 2020

      Expected to Arrive

I live near Taree, 4 hrs from Sydney.

Makes me think these are not being shipped within Australia. I'm thinking more like USA/China

PS: I did no customizing either.

    • Pretty normal for Lenovo eBay. They presell laptops that haven't begin production yet so you have to wait for yours to be built.

  • Ordered on Feb 28, est to ship Mar 25, sigh, and Lenovo already charged with Paypal.

    • On my Paypal it's just an authorisation. Hasn't been charged to my card yet.

  • +2

Expected delivery 3 April…ordered 27 Feb. I'd expect this from someone on eBay selling $1 screen protectors but not for a $700 laptop? Is their supply chain being affected by coronavirus? Genuine question

  • +1

Same here, expected delivery April 3. Pretty annoying, need a laptop right now :/

    What can you do hey.

  • +1

I see I'm not the only one surprise at the (lack of) speed of the delivery.
If I had knowned this I would not have ordered one.
Last time I bought from Dell it arrived in 3 days from date of ordering

I hope there is a Lenovo rep that read this and know that this type of turn around will make people go elsewhere

    • +1

I feel for you I'm in the same boat. Ordered 27/2, expected to ship 7/4 and ETA 20/4. It's poor form, does my warranty commence on the order date or arrival date?

    • @tightarse Has a connection of some sort with Lenovo, i'm sure he will pass on the frustrations and hopefully next time there's information of some sort in the OP regarding delivery times.

I also grabbed one for our business as we have a laptop on its last legs, and wont be receiving it until the 20th of April.
