Well originally the trend started with crushed Doritos being used for breading and evolved from there.
People cook them all sorts of ways but the ones I've seen are smoked on a charcoal BBQ.

corngrain products because they're unhealthy.The average Australian has been educated by marketing that processed grain is healthy so they aren't sensible at all.

Flamin' Hot series for Twisties and Doritos taste pretty horrendous which was a downer as I was looking forward to them. Chemical burn taste is not good taste.

Kettle chips is a nice spicy. These are burn your mouth and stop eating spicy
Slightly hotter, but also more artificial as these don't actually contain any chili, whereas the Kettle ones do.
I gave a bite one of the Doritos to my 3 y.o. kid after she asked for one as a test, and she didn't cry…so they're not that hot.
That's the same litmus test that saved you from sampling a Carolina Reaper.
Just to clarify it was after I'd devoured half the bag a knew they weren't going to do some damage lol.
Interesting point Pand'. I imagine the reason (sadly) that manufacturers find alternatives to real chilli seasoning is for cost related reasons.
It is always a let down IMO when real chili is not used for such things.
Not a fan of pink, sour tomato spice, which these and the Cheetos have.
These are medium-level spice, but I dislike the sourness.

They changed their flavour. A few years ago they were better. Still good, just not as good.
Yeah, they were really good, then they removed them from sale because too many people complained that chilli chips were too spicy. A year or two later, they came back with less spice
