Needing a semi-portable laptop for pretty basic use - internet browsing, Microsoft office. No gaming, photo or video editing.
SSD because don't want long boot/load times.

recently picked up a 2nd hand 1st gen Lenovo Yoga X1 for $680 on eBay - unless you are pedantic about everyday scratches, it's as good as new. but you need to keep an eye out for a good deal/seller

It was a private seller, he just had the one unit. Plus there was an eBay discount code that brought the price down to 680.
With eBay, always check the seller's ratings (95% and above is generally fine) AND reviews left by buyers, before buying anything.
